I wasn't sure about going to Scott's house. It was all still so fresh. I was standing on his door. I had been here for nearly 20 minutes not knowing what to do. It was as if I had forgotten how to knock on a door. My heart was racing because of this moment. He is still my friend, and I don't want our friendship to be destroyed. I was turning around, about to leave when I heard footsteps near the door. I paralyzed for a moment and before I knew, I found myself knocking on the door as hard as I could.
Someone opened the door. "I thought you weren't coming", said Scott as he grabbed me and hugged me. "Were you going to leave playing alone?".
"No! absolutely not!", I replied as I tried to breathe from the hug that the boy gave me. "Are you going to let me in?" I asked while he played with his hair.
"I was going to buy some beer...", he replied. "Wanna come with me?".
I do want a beer and in fact I think we both needed it. We walked down three blocks until we found a liquor store. Scott had the look of an eighteen-year-old boy, so he never had issues buying alcohol. He walked down the alcohol isle as I grabbed some Takis. I was craving something spicy. The guy at the counter looked at us strangely as Scott was paying.
"Hope you guys aren't underage", said the clerk.
"You think we are that stupid?", I said. "We are not going to risk community service in the Island just for a couple of beers.
"Of course we are over eighteen", said Scott. "Just because we look younger than you, doesn't mean that we actually are."
"Just take your beers and go, I don't want to see you never again here".
We walked out of the store trying not to laugh, yet, when we stepped out of the store we burst in tears laughing.
"You do know it was because of you", said Scott while petting my head. "You look too young to be buying beer".
"Let's just go to your house. We are not even playing and my character is already kicking your ass".
As we got home, Scott's mother kissed me in the cheek and hugged me. His father, as usual, was in his office working. Scott always tells us that his father never speaks to him unless is about school issues. Not even hello.
"Let's go", he said. "We are going to be in my room playing", he said to his mom.
"Don't make too much noise", yelled his mom as we entered his room.
We spent almost 4 hours playing from game to game. He had kicked my ass in Combo Extra. But I had destroyed him in Mario Kart. He has never been good as racing games. We were playing this new game he had found but I wasn't felling it.
"Scott, this is boring as fuck", I said, "You have really out done yourself this time".
"I didn't think it was going to be boring", he replied, "I mean, the cover looked awesome".
"Anyways, I should get going. Me and my parents are going to the beach tomorrow."
"Cool!", he said. "It's been a while since I go to the beach.
"Wanna come with?", I said.
As I turned to look at his eyes, his lips clashed against mines.
"Sorry, I wanted to do that one more time", he said, as he lowered his head.
"It's OK", I said.
I stood up and opened the door.
"Good night Scott"
