The Hoenn region is aflame with the news about the death of Viata's father. Viata and her mother stay cooped up within their house as the reporters bang on the door. "Open up! Hoenn wants to know what you two think!"

Viata's mother buries her face deeper into Viata's chest as the door pounding continues. The T.V. blares the words "Champions of Death."

Viata stares at the words and hugs her mother tighter. The day passes by. The knocking at the door subsides. All is quiet as the sun sets.

Viata jostles her mother and helps her stand. Together they make their way to Viata's room. There, upon her desk, is a picture of Travis holding a baby. She sits her mother down on her bed. "I think I know the dolly story now."

Her mother looks up. "I should have told you so you would be more aware. I should have-"

"Mom."

"Looked after you better. I should have-"

"Mom!" Viata takes hold of her mother's shoulders and gazes into her eyes. Shimmering pools of black meet her gaze. "It's time to let go."

As the two sit on Viata's bed, shadows flee from the eaves of the house. The doll crumbles into dust. Viata embraces her mother. From her mother, the shimmers fall from her eyes taking with them the pools of darkness.
