Back in Lilycove City, Viata uses Surf while heading toward Team Aqua's Secret Base. There she catches a female Magikarp and names her Bessy. She traverses through the Secret Hideout with ease and takes out any Grunts standing in her way. At last, she reaches the submarine dock, packed with Team Aqua Grunts. Kabuki and Thyme have a field day with the water and dark type Pokemon.

Then, they encounter a Team Aqua Admin, Matt. They sweep his team but the submarine gets away. As the submarine descends into the water, Archie announces that he and his crew will awaken the sleeping ancient Pokemon.

Viata makes her way back through the base and exits.

On the way to Mossdeep City, Viata makes a stop on Route 126 in a Relicanth capture attempt. After a long battle, the Relicanth swims away. The missed catch makes Viata feel down for the rest of the journey. She absently swirls her hand in the sea as they surf across the water. Soon, they reach Mossdeep City.

Viata immediately makes her way to the Mossdeep gym and barrels through all the trainers with Scarelet. Finally, they make it to Lisa and Tate.

"The path you trod upon—"

"Will end in heartbreak."

"We'll stop you—

From having to endure!"

Lisa and Tate send out a Lunatone and Solrock. Quickly Scarelet and Kabuki take down the Lunatone, but the Solrock is still left standing. It uses Cosmic Power. Luckily, Scarelet scores a critical hit on the Solrock and Kabuki finishes it off with a Meteor Mash. With Mossdeep city badge in tow, only one more remains Sootopolis City.

But before the gym challenge, Viata decides to stop team Aqua from reviving the ancient Pokemon. If she stops them, she will get some extra training out of it. She sets off to find Team Aqua's submarine.

After coasting through the different routes, she discovers Team Aqua's submarine. After disembarking from Teeter Tot, Viata blasts through the Team Aqua grunts and boulder puzzles with her team. Soon she arrives at the resting place of the ancient Pokemon. There she battles Archie and soundly defeats him.

After Archie is defeated, he raises the Orb to awaken the ancient Pokemon.

"Kyogre, awaken!"

Kyogre awakens and lets out a roar. Immediately it departs. Archie stands in shock.

"Why won't it listen to me?"

A voice crackles over Archie's communication device. "Sir, the amount of water drenches the world. It's way over our estimated numbers!"

Maxie arrives and tells Archie, "Take a look outside and see what you have unleashed upon the world."

Everyone goes outside and sees the ocean swirling with madness. The waves are ten to fifteen feet high and the strength of the storm only grows.

Archie falls to his knees and looks at the flooding world. "I wanted more water but not for the whole world to be overrun with it!"

Viata watches as Steven comes soaring down from the sky. He leaps off of his Skarmory and says, "Viata, you need to go to Sootopolis city. Wallace and I are waiting for you there. I have business to take care of elsewhere. I believe you can stop Kyogre and its rampage."

With that, they both take off and Viata makes her way to Sootopolis City.

Arriving at Sootopolis City, Viata goes to the Pokemon Center to heal up her Pokemon. She tries to enter the Pokemart but finds that it is closed due to the weather. She shakes her head. Looks like she'll have to do with the items she has.

Taking a path she arrives at the Cave of Origin. There Wallace and Steven greet her and Team Aqua gives her a special suit to go underwater. She descends into the Cave of Origin and finally comes across Kyogre. She rides on the ancient Pokemon's back and arrives at the cave where a massive bright stone emits a vibrant glow. Kyogre roars at the stone and it glows along with Kyogre. When the light fades, Kyogre stands changed and has red glowing marks etched into it. Viata challenges it to a battle, which she immediately ends by catching the Kyogre in a Masterball.

After she captures the Kyogre, she sends it to the PC. She surfaces and heads back toward the entrance of the cave. There, Steven and Wallace celebrate the quelling of the storm.

All Viata has left to do now is challenge Wallace and the Pokemon League.

Viata heals up her Pokemon at the Pokemon Center. Then, she goes to the Pokemart to stock up on more hyper potions. She enters the Sootopolis gym.

Inside she sweeps all the Trainers and wallops Wallace with only Kabuki.

Wallace walks toward Viata and gives her the badge.

"You battle with brute force. There is no grace in your style."

"Grace didn't get you anywhere."

"Well, I hear that you're looking for your father. He battled the same way you do."

"What do you know about him?"

"Only that Steven was the last person to see him alive. You have to beat the Elite Four to meet him."

"Then, I'll do just that."
