"We need to purpose an alliance with team flame! Our lives depend on it" "yes but it's risky they can not me trusted!" "They are to focused on defeating the shadows and death to worry about us. We are no threat to them might as well be friends." "I don't know Fred. We have worked too hard for survival to fail now." "Carson...we have to do this...now. Excuse me." He said as he pushed past me and walked out the door to make the arrangement. "Why are you so paranoid?" Calvin asked me. " we're at war Calvin. We just invited the enemy inside out home." I mumbled then walked away. "Trust the leader Owen!" He called after me. I will when hell freezes over. I thought. The thing about gliders is were obsessed with finding peace before we start violence. When our enemy is only looking for war. That's were the flames are going to disagree with us. I ran a hand through my hair then sighed.

10pm

I was awoken rudely by the sound of automatic gun fire and blood curling screams. I sprung into action and grabbed my gun off my nightstand. I opened my door a crack to see shadow soldiers in the hallway. A glider woman was on her knees begging them to let her go. They reply by shooting her. I pulled away from the door and backed into the closet. I was in shock. I felt like I was in a horror/scifi movie. I heard the door open more and the sound of footsteps enter my room. I slowed my breathing and put my finger on the trigger of my gun. I sat there in the darkness of the closet in complete fear. Everything went silent for a moment before my closet door swung open and the soldier pulled me out. My gun flew out of my hand and landed a few feet away from me. I felt the soldiers gun on me. I sucked in a breath before I heard the gun go off. *boom*. But it wasn't the shadows soldiers gun. I felt his body fall on top of me and I pushed him off as fast as I could. I sucked in a breath. My whole body was shaking. "Carson!!" It was Calvin! He shot the shadow soldier. He helped me up. If it wasn't for the adrenalin running through my body I wouldn't be able to walk. "Let's get out of here!" Calvin said as we ran down the hall. "Where's Fred?!" I asked. "I don't know. Last I saw him he was looking for you." "We have to find him!" I mumbled. He crouched behind a corner and pulled me down with him. "In sure he escaped." He assured me. I shook my head. "No because he would still be looking for me." I hissed. He sighed then nodded. "Let's hurry though." He said before getting up. We searched each room we passed. We eventually found him. He was Laying on the floor in his own blood. He had been shot in the stomach. I kneeled down next to him. "He's not dead!" I exclaimed. Calvin sighed in relief then said "we can't fix him here." "I know. We can take him to the safe house. It's probably were all the survivors are headed." "I'll carry him." Calvin offered. I nodded in agreement. I checked to see if the hall way was clear while Calvin struggled to pick up Freddy. "It's gonna be ok Freddy" I said. We walked through the halls that were strangely quiet. Every few minutes you hear a shot being fired. We fought our way to the exit. We arrived to find our exit barracked by shadow troops. We crouched down again so we were unseen. "What now?" Calvin whispered. "I don't know." "Is there another exit?" "Yes, all the way in the west wing of the base. Way too far." I replied. "Well damn. We're screwed." Freddy breathed. "Fred!!" I sighed. "Hi" he said then his face twisted in pain. "I'm fine" he assured us. "No your not. Your bleeding out." Calvin mumbled then frowned. Fred sighed again. "Just focus on breathing ok" I budded in. "Yea ok" he replied. "I'm going out there" I said. Both of their faces lit up with shock. "No way, you'll die" Fred said sternly. "It's you guys or me. I'll be fine. Calvin be ready to run...ok? And if I get hurt don't come for me. Just go, don't look back." I slightly came up from my crouched position. Then I turned the corner and began shooting. I shot about three to the ground before taking cover again. I took a deep breath. Then turned and shot some more. This time I was hit. Pain filled my left shoulder. I didn't stop shooting. Thank god I was right handed. Then before I knew it I was hit again. Right in the chest. "Noooo!" I heard Calvin scream as I fell to my knees then on my stomach. I turned my head just In Time to see distraught Calvin running with Freddy in his arms out the now clear exist. Pain filled my entire body but I don't care. Our leader is in safe hands now. A death soldier came over to me and realized I was still alive. He had a smirk on his face and pointed the gun at my face. I smiled "see you in hell" I growled then *boom* blackness.
