Taehyung couldn't sleep. It had been a few hours since he stormed into his room, slamming the door shut. But it was as if all his exhaustion wasn't enough to put him to sleep, and he knew exactly why.He felt guilty. That's why.
Afterall, Jungkook didn't deserve that punch. It was fine as long as it was verbal and even Taehyung knew he had crossed the line today.
He hadn't even punched his dad, the closest he got to punching him was when he shoved him as a child of 16.
Fuck, he didn't even let Jungkook explain his side. All Taehyung thought about was himself and punched him in the heat of the moment.
He felt deeply ashamed. Firstly for punching him, and secondly for leaving him alone.
Wait what?
"Holy shit! Jungkook!!" He yelled and rushed out of his room. He had completely forgotten that he left him alone like that.
He climbed down the stairs hastily, expecting to see Jungkook in the same position as he'd left him in. On not finding him in that spot, he panicked.
"Fuck." He roamed his eyes hurriedly across the room and finally rested on a figure passed out near the couch, on the floor.
He immediately recognized it and his heart dropped.
He rushed towards the figure and gently laid his head on his lap.
"Jungkook." He patted his cheeks softly, in an attempt to wake him up
Realising it's not gonna work, he put his arm under Jungkook's legs and gently carried him bridal style.
He brough the younger to his room and laid him down on the bed.
Tucking him in, he hesitantly lifted his shirt to examine the bruises on his stomach.
Taehyung felt his chest tighten when he saw a dark patch of a reddish-blue shade decorating the spot he'd punched.
He ran his hand through the spot and was surprised to find tear drops on his abdomen. It was only then that he realised that he was crying.
Taehyung quickly wiped his tears away, it'd be a shame if Jungkook woke up out of nowhere and saw him like this, shedding tears for the younger.
Taehyung knew it wasn't the time to cry, he had to act asap in order to lessen the pain. He rushed to the washroom, grabbing a first aid kit. He took out a painkiller and an ointment.
He lifted Jungkook's shirt further and gently applied the ointment after washing his hands. He knew he was invading Jungkook's personal space and touching him without consent but he had no other choice. Jungkook would be his stubborn self and pretend he's alright, pretend he's alright even if he cries in pain.
As he applied the ointment and gently massaged the area, he couldn't help but tear up again. He had caused this.
This time, he didn't bother wiping his tears away. He deserved to cry for what he had done, not just the punch but for everything he had put the younger through. Looking at his innocent face, he knew the younger wasn't capable of anything heinous.
What probably upset him most was the fact that he genuinely liked Jungkook. He had been the first person after Jimin and the squad, who actually won his trust. He believed that Jungkook truly liked and put up with him for who he was as a person, and not for his money.
The marriage and moving in came as a shock to him. He couldn't handle the thought of Jungkook being so desperate and greedy. Now that he thought of it, he never once gave him the chance to explain.
