Jungkook was at work but he could barely concentrate. Not that there were too many customers, but the looks he was receiving from passers-by and his co-workers were enough to make him want to hide his face. Obviosly, he didn't look his best today.
But that wasn't why he was having trouble concentrating; it was Taehyung. He genuinely felt bad about overreacting when the older was simply looking out for him. Had roles been reversed, he knew he wouldn't have given a second thought before stopping Taehyung from going to work too.
He sighed, looking away. He shouldn't have left Taehyung alone...
"Jeon, you look like shit,"
Jungkook merely looked up at his co-worker, before looking back down.
"Thanks, Mark, I didn't notice." The younger replied lazily
"No, for real, did you get into a street fight or something? Petite lil' Kookie's finally growing up," Mark wiped his fake tears
"Fuck off, Mark, I'm not in the mood to play around right now," Jungkook spoke, playing with the tip of his marker that he always kept to customise his customers' cups with doodles or their names
"Shit, okay, this is serious. Do you wanna talk?" Mark's entire demeanor changed, as he turned to face Jungkook seriously
Jungkook briefly looked at him before shaking his head.
"No, I'll be fine. Thanks for your concern, though." Jungkook smiled, and Mark nodded, getting the memo
Though they knew each other for a long time and were sort of friends, Jungkook wasn't really prepared to tell him about his entire life story. All Mark knew was that Jungkook was "dating" a rich man, and that was all. The younger had to make up a semi-truth when Mark had spotted Taehyung and Jungkook in a really compromising position accidentally. Thankfully, he hadn't seen Taehyung's face, since it was covered with a mask, and had no problem in believing Jungkook when he said he was a college student.
"Tae...I just wanna hug you right now," Jungkook mumbled softly

"Taehyung, you can't be serious right now. I told you to tell him the truth, not to argue with him, you dumbass!" Jimin's voice bellowed on the other side of the line
"Chim, what would you do if Yoongi started arguing with you to go to work the same day he got beat up??"
"Me? I'd arrest the fuckers who beat him, and then force him to stay home."
"That's literally my point! Since my dad is all invincible and shit, I can't really do much to him. But Kooks? He chose my dad over me!"
"Alright it's weird when you put it that way! He doesn't even know the whole story, if he did, I'm pretty sure he would've just quit his part time job!"
"Yeah, right." Taehyung snorted
"C'mon, you're not thinking straight. When he comes back, stop being a dumbass and talk it out with him." Jimin spoke in a tone that made it seem like he was talking to a kindergartner
"Firstly, I'm not even straight, and secondly, what if he doesn't want to talk to me? And I don't know if I wanna tell him the truth..."
Jimin stayed silent for a while, before yelling in full force.
"What the fuck?? Kim Taehyung, do you even hear yourself right now??"
"Chim, he literally thinks I'm jist like my dad...if I tell him the truth, he's either not gonna believe me after our argument today, or he's gonna leave me." Taehyung spoke, his voice wavering slightly
