Jungkook knew he was hallucinating. How would Taehyung be here? And most importantly why? But the moment Daehyung stepped out of his cabin and froze as well, Jungkook wasn't entirely sure if he was indeed imagining stuff.

The rest of the morning was a blur. Jungkook remembers leaving the duo to talk alone and settle their stuff, and later getting ushered out with Taehyung by his side.

At home, he didn't have the courage to ask the older regarding what they had talked about, and he couldn't even make out his state of mind since the older hadn't spoken a word either.

Not being able to take it any longer, Jungkook finally popped the question at dinner.

"Tae...are you okay?"

His tone was cautious and gentle. He didn't want to sound like he was pitying Tae (he wouldn't ever do that), or sound accusatory.

"I'm...I don't know, Kooks. It doesn't exactly feel great knowing that the person I've blamed all my life was...wasn't as bad as I made him out to be," Taehyung spoke softly, feeling the weight of-what do you call it?-guilt weigh him down

"Oh TaeTae, it wasn't your fault. Let's not ignore the fact that he's done some pretty fucked up stuff too. I don't care what his intentions were behind them, but he isn't as flawless either," Jungkook let out, hating the look of sadness and guilt on the older's face

"Kooks, its okay to let go off your anger. I know you aren't angry at him. You're angry because I'm...sad." the older laughed softly, watching his baby's cheeks flare up

"Fine. But I need you to know you've done nothing wrong, okay? I'd hate my dad too if I went from seeing my parents argue day in and day out, to my mom murdered beside him," Jungkook spoke slowly, trying not to sound too harsh as it was still a sensitive topic

Taehyung didn't respond immediately, making the younger wonder if he'd pisssd him off despite his best efforts not to. As he was about to back-track and apologise, Taehyung spoke.

"I didn't let him talk, Kook. I refused to hear him out. I didn't even assume he could've been a victim too. It's like I made him the killer even before processing the scene. Had he not been present beside my mom's body, I'd still eventually blame him. Blame him for never loving her enough to the point that she had to...had to..."

Jungkook didn't let him finish. He gasped and scooted closer to Taehyung, hugging him tightly as the older wept silently. He grabbed Jungkook's tiny accentuated waist and held him tightly.

They'd been in this position many times, yet this time it felt different. Everytime, Taehyung knew it was just a momentary comfort and that the moment they'd break away from the hug, every sorrow would come crushing down on him.

This time, however, he knew he had no sorrow left. His biggest source of negativity had been his dad, or rather, the series of misunderstandings that he'd created between them, but after having the talk, he knew a part of him felt light.

Daehyung had been worried that he had destroyed the image of his mom in Taehyung's heart, but nothing had changed. He felt himself admitting that he could finally gravitate towards his father, rightfully demand his love and attention without feeling that he was excusing a murderer.

The major part of him felt guilty, though. All his life, he made himself the victim. The victim of a bad marriage, bad parenting, bad circumstances...but turns out it was his father who was the victim all along-a wife who hated him, a son who termed him a murderer, his employs who didn't respect him any longer.

Taehyung felt stupid, reckless and overall an idiot. He didn't get how his father forgave him so quick. But perhaps Jungkook was right, he was guilty of doing sone pretty fucked up stuff too.
