"Don't worry, Ma'am. You look very beautiful.", Martha assured me, as she did my hair.

Martha was an amazing person. She was very kind and humble.Even though she was in her mid forties, she still had a cute and bubbly personality. We immediately became great friends. She told me she had migrated from London to Seoul when she was very young and have been living here since. She had two lovely daughters and a loving husband. We chatted the whole day, she cooked me great food and even helped me dress for the evening. The dress was elegant and beautiful. Although I wasn't sure if Taehyung would like it.

All this was so new to me. These beautiful dresses, parties and stuff. I was scared that I would make a mistake and embarrass Taehyung. I would never want to do that but something in me told me I would. It could be the reason why my nerves were all over the place.

Just in time, the doorbell rang.

"Young master's here. Let's go.", she chirped, as she led me to the front door.
I wasn't even this nervous on the wedding day. Maybe because this time, I had really stepped out of my comfort zone with my outfit. I hope Taehyung likes it. I don't want to disappoint him.

Mr. Lee, the driver led me to the car. Soon, I saw Taehyung leaning on the car and looking at his wristwatch. I held my breath as I saw him looking at me, as I approached. His eyes scanning my entire length.

"Hi.", I say, breathily. His gaze meets mine but flickers momentarily to my dress, before opening the door.
"We are late.", he says curtly, as I slide in.

He didn't say anything. No greetings. No smile. I was a tad bit upset but I shrugged it off. I know I don't look good anyways. What was I thinking? Dressing up and expecting a compliment.  I'm literally going nuts. Get it together, Eunhye! You don't belong in this glittery world.

"So, where are we going?", I finally hammer down the wall of silence.

"My father is hosting a party.", he replies, as-a-matter-of-factly but there was a tinge of annoyance in his voice.

"You didn't tell me you had a father."

There was no answer. I turned to see him gritting his teeth as he answered, " He's just a name. There aren't any relations between me and him."

Even though I wanted to ask more, the way he spat out his words told me I shouldn't, for now.

Taehyung guided me through the hall full of plutocrats. Everything was so lavish and extravagant. Everyone behaved like royalty and the party soon became suffocating to me. My cheeks hurt from all the smiling.

After a while Taehyung left me  at the buffet table to go greet his other business associates. It became even more awkward now that I was alone.

While I was munching on a delicious pastry, a middle aged lady approached me saying," Why is such a pretty young lady unaccompanied?" She smiled warmly at me.

" My husband is talking to his colleagues.", I reply.

"Oh, why don't you join us then?", she chirped, as she dragged me to a table where other ladies like her, were seated. They all greeted me. Some warmly and some just for the sake of courtesy. They were chattering away about parties and bragging about their new jewelries. Typical rich women.

Suddenly one of them exclaimed,
"Oh! Look over there! Kim Taehyung and his beautiful wife."

My eyes quickly darted over to where they pointed. Taehyung's arm was wrapped around the waist of a beautiful young woman. They were smiling and talking to a bunch of other six young men.  They way that woman was leaning at Taehyung's shoulder seemed really intimate. Are they friends? But the way Taehyung was laughing with his boxy smile, I had never seen that before. At least, he never smiled like that when he was with me.

"She's Park Sooyoung, the daughter of Park Industries. I heard Kim Taehyung married a normal, country girl.", the other lady chimed in.

"Why did he marry a country girl? Park Sooyoung was much better. I bet the country girl must have blackmailed him.", the other spat, in disgust.

I somehow felt so hurt by their portrayal of someone like me.

"You are right. Otherwise, those kind of whores don't even get to be mistresses, let alone wives! But I can't see her anywhere."

I couldn't hear anymore and excused myself. I wanted to get away from there as soon as possible. Tears were threatening to spill, out of frustration and shame. But I composed myself.

Suddenly, I bumped into something and lost balance. But someone steadied me by my waist just in time.

" Are you okay, miss?", a young and sweet voice boomed.

"Yeah, thanks. And sorry.", I mumbled, keeping my head down.

" It's fine. I should be thanking a beautiful lady like you for falling into my arms.", a teasing voice came as I looked up to see a young, handsome guy smiling sweetly at me. He looked like an angel and just by looking at him, a shy smile crept on my face.

" Are you flirting with me?", I chuckled.
"Yes.", He was shamelessly sweet.

After seeing me smile, he said,
"Is it working?"

"No, I'm married.", I giggled.

Hearing that there was a visible scowl on his face but he again smirked at me.
"So what? Doesn't matter to me."
He is so straightforward. I didn't know what to reply to him.
"By the way, I'm Park Jimin." He extended his hands.

I took them and he gave it a warm squeeze.

"I'm... Kim Eunhye.", I say.
It looked like he wanted to ask something but he shrugged it off.

"So where were you heading to?", he asked me.

"I wanted to get some fresh air. ", I sighed.

"Great. Let's take a walk in the garden, then.", he smiled and led me outside.
