Madnil Part 15

The next morning Madhuri was released from the hospital in time to make her flight. She had gotten some calls from Sriram. Kajol had called him and told him she was in the hospital. She had explained she was fine and was coming home as planned. They were all at the airport waiting on their different flights. Most everyone's plane was the 12:15 to L.A. but, Madhuri who had a 12 o'clock plane to New York. There were tears in her eyes as she said goodbye to everyone. She hugged Kajol, then Anushka then Akash then Ajay saving Anil for last. She looked up at him and smiled. He leant down and hugged her. Kissing her on the cheek. "I'm going to miss everyone!" she said. "I look forward to seeing all of you at the premiere!" She looked back at Anil. "yeah, you be sure to keep us updated!" Kajol said! "Because I'll probably fly out just to visit you... and the new baby" she added. She looked back at Anil and saw the hurt in his eyes. "Listen my flight will be landing before all of yours so as soon as you guys land I expect a call from someone saying you landed safely!" Madhuri added. "Make sure you sit close to the bathroom!" Kajol joked. Then off Madhuri went through the terminal. Sadness filled her because she would miss everyone. Especially Anil. "I have to find out who the father of this baby is," she thought as she boarded her plane.

When her plane landed Sriram was there to welcome her home. He ran to her and picked her up and swung her around. "I missed you," He said. "I missed you too!" "Oh God Sriram put me down quick!" she said "Sweetheart what's wrong?' he asked. Madhuri ran to the ladies' room and made it to a stall just in time. She came back out a short while later to find Sriram standing right outside the ladies' room. "are you alright?" he asked. "I'm fine honey, really." "Can we go now there's something I need to tell you that's really important," she said. "Alright then let's go." He took her hand and led her to the car.

Once they got back to their apartment Madhuri had to run to the downstairs bathroom. Sriram followed behind her and held her hair back for her. When she was through he got her a washcloth and wiped her face for her. "I thought you said you were ok?" "When they told me you were in the hospital I freaked, it can't be that serious if they let you come home but you obviously are sick," he said concerned. "Honey, I'm not sick exactly," she said. "When I started throwing up yesterday night at the club I thought I'd had a bad margarita but Kajol finally convinced me to go to the hospital and when I got there they ran several tests on me and well.... I'm... pregnant! Sriram stared at her in shock "I thought you couldn't get pregnant?" Madhuri went on to explain to him what the doctor had and when she was through he picked her up and kissed her tenderly. "We're going to have a baby!" He screamed. She felt guilt stab her as he said those words.

One day later Madhuri was off to visit Dr. Johnson. Her new O.B.G.Y.N. Sriram, of course, went with her. "Now Madhuri, your 51 years old this is going to be a very high-risk pregnancy." "You and the baby will be at a greater health risk," he said. "Yes, go on" Madhuri replied. "There's just one question I want to ask you before we make our relationship as doctor-patient official." "What's the question?" "If we do an amniocentesis and find out there's something wrong with the baby are you going to want an abortion?" "Hell No!" she replied immediately. "Good then I'll be your doctor," he said. Madhuri smiled. "Like I said this is a very high-risk pregnancy and given your age this will be a planned delivery, you will be induced and then deliver the baby by cesarean." "You will need to stay in bed a lot for most of the pregnancy, can you do that?" Yes, I can" Madhuri had her tests run and was given prenatal vitamins. "I'll call you when the results of the tests are in then we'll call you back in for another visit with more information.

The results came in the next day and she went back alone, assuring Sriram she would be fine. He had an important meeting to go to. "Well Dr. Johnson is everything all right?" she asked. "Actually to tell you the truth with your age I was expecting to have to tell you that your baby has down syndrome but I don't, your baby is perfectly healthy." "Oh, that's great!" Madhuri was just about shouting. "After running the tests I can now tell you that with the fetus as far along as it is and some other tests your conception date was around march 19-23rd." That's what Madhuri had been waiting to hear. Since she had never made love to Anil when Sriram was there she could now try and find out who the father of her baby was. "Your first ultrasound will be in 3 weeks, and remember lots of rest if you want to carry this baby to term." Madhuri agreed and then rushed home.

Sriram still wasn't back and so she grabbed a calendar and started counting back two months. When she got back to the week she needed she started trying to think about what she had been filming, and what dates Sriram had been on set with her. Her thoughts were interrupted by her home phone ringing. "Hey sweetheart it's me I just thought I'd let you know that I'll be home in about an hour, I'm picking up some Chinese food so you don't have to cook." "Mmmm that sounds great, thanks, honey." They ended with I love you and Madhuri went back to her work. "When the hell did Sriram visit me that month?" Then she remembered Sriram had come out to visit her on the 12th of March and had stayed through the 16th. Then She had been avoiding Anil for several days. But she was sure that she had made love to him again by the 21st. "Oh my God!" "Anil is the father!" she screamed. She was overcome with joy and didn't even stop to think before she dialed his number.

Anil had spent all day in his lawyer's office. His divorce had just been finalized and he was sure the media would get wind of it soon. All he kept thinking about though was his beautiful Madhuri. He was sitting down flipping through the channels and "the river wild" was on and he was thinking about Madhuri and how incredible she was in that movie when as if on cue is phone rang. He looked at the caller ID and immediately answered it. "Madhuri, I've missed you so much you have no idea." "Anil listens to me," Madhuri said excitedly. "You're the father!" "I'm having your baby!" she squealed...
