Colby POV
I walked through the grassy field, reliving all the times I had come here with people who I thought were my friends. Soon I find a dirt path and start walking down it, thinking of the Fond nmemories of the past. As I journey through and finally get to the old abandoned worn down warehouse, I go to the roof to look out over the sunset one last time. It's always been one of my favorite places to be, the tranquility of nature around me to block out that of human civilization. I take a deep breath, letting the crisp nature air fill my lungs and I let it out with a smile, able to think.
I had arrived early in the morning, telling my parents that I wanted to surprise them, and stayed for a couple of hours then left, not wanting to be there if Sam called them. I had taken a different route then my usual, to hopefully lead them away from where I was actually going.
I visited other places since I was nostalgic for it all, and arrived just in time for the beautiful sunset to fall on the horizon. I waited a while later before getting up and going down the path to my car. I had changed the license plate with a different car a couple of times so no one could track me if they think of it.
I got inside and turned it on, driving away from the place called my safe zone. I drove on, finally hitting the road and turning right, heading to who knows where. Ten minutes later, I see a car pass by quickly, as if in a hurry, making me frown at their reckless driving but continued on, not wanting to lose any time before they caught up to me.
I continued on driving, trying not to let the tears fall as I fought to keep my thoughts clear and away from what I was running from. Running headfirst into the one thing no human should ever try to do.
But yet, it's the only thing I'm looking forward to as I go forward to meet the one person who could help me.
