Please be aware that I am English, and therefore, some spelling will be different from American English. These are not typos; it is just the British spelling.

This book is partly based on the lyrics of a song by dodie named 'Boys Like You', hence the title of the book, and quite heavily from my own experiences. All of the dialogue are conversations I had with my original version of 'Jack'. Any descriptions of actions and time spent together happened between him and me.

This short story will cover some of the consequences I have experienced after a close friend sexually assaulted me. The letter in the second chapter is the exact letter I wrote to him one day, with just a tweak or two to fit the timeline so please be sensitive if reviewing that part. It is for this reason that I'd appreciate it if any reviews (since I know I will ask for some) or any comments made on this book are respectful if they are about the plot and events. The quality of my writing is entirely fair game, and so any constructive criticism is welcome in that area.

The protagonist, Carrie's, story will somewhat differ in places as this is not an entirely autobiographical short story. For example, I am currently not in my 20s, nor do I live alone. The names of the main characters have been changed to hide the identity of those involved.
