My best friend Blaire is coming over after school but right now I am at school. I'm sitting with a group of people and were all just talking back and forth.
"I don't think jack is (the one) I mean he smells too much and the teachers always kick him outta class for it" Tina said.
"I've known jack since kindergarten!
He is a pretty darn good guy but if he's gonna be mine those scrawny arms just gotta go." Molly said.
"Can we just stop talking about guys!!!
Clara said.
"Look people! You've all been talking about the same thing for a full straight hour now. Don't you think it's time to move on?" I said. I was getting really annoyed by all of them. Literally that's all they ever talk about.
The only reason I hang out with them is to take up Claire's place when she's gone.
"Shut your pretty little mouth dena." Tina said.
"Why Tina...why should I?
Oh that's right! So you can make your old smart ass points?"
Tina is just so -- well I think you can tell what she is.
Tina growled and narrowed her eyes evilly at me.
"Who ever told you that you could dare say that to me?!?!"
"Myself Tina. Because you know there's this thang that's called talking and..well..ya know! You can say whatever You want because it's your own mouth. So yeah, I have the right to say whatever I want! So how about you leave me alone and stop talking your foolish nonsense and start saying something useful like I do."
Tina just stared at me as I felt powerful. Maybe I was more powerful with my words than I excepted.
Later on at home I stared out my window with the can't wait feeling floating from my stomach all the way to my head.
Finally there was a knock on the door.
I turned around and stared praying.
Please make it be Claire, please make it be Claire, please make it me Claire.
I heard the door open before I could get off the bed and heard someone shout
"Howdy dena! It's me! Ready to go riding on the horses?!
Yes! It's Claire!
I bounced off the bed to my closet.
I put on my boots that had the 2 pink flowers on it and jumped once.
Then that's when she entered my room.
"Howdy girl! What's happening?" She said cheerfully.
"Oh nothing. Until now; I'm so glad your finally here!"
We hugged each other then she grabbed my hand.
"Come on let's go ride the horses!"
We raced each other out to the barn.
"I call Polly!" Which was my other horse.
"I call silver!" I said running to his stall.
"You always call silver!" She laughed.
I was the first one to get out and Claire was behind me. We both made them go faster as we rode fast on the trail around the field. I smiled so wide and laughed. I loved riding the horses. It's the best thing ever also it's the best feeling ever. If you never rode a horse before. You would know how amazing and exciting it feels.
It feels like your chasing the horizon.
After a long time of us riding silver and Polly we decided to take a walk around to the lake.
I loved taking walks because it gives you time to just get away from all your troubles and worries. And just relax and let all the beautiful nature take in.
That's how I describe walks anyways.
My daddy describes walks as
(Things you do to make you skinnier)
"So um dena there's something I've been meaning to tell you"
"What?"
"That I got a job as a waitress at long steak horns last Saturday."
"Oh my gosh! That's great Claire! Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
"I got my phone taken away for talking to much in class remember?"
"Oh yeah, that's right."
"But if I wouldn't of. I swear I would've texted you on the spot."
Me and Claire text a lot. It seems all best friends text all the time these days. It's just a thing.
"Oh and do you know that guy Lenny?"
"Yeah."
"He uh asked me out when I was on the bus."
"What is up with the girls talking so much about guys?"
"I don't know. But you don't have a problem with it do you?"
"Uh duh! I so do!"
"But why?"
"You know I have to listen to your little
(Group) talk about it every day!"
"Oh...well...yeah I get that."
She frowned at the ground.
"Dena I understand if you don't like them and don't want to hang out with them anymore. Their just my friends and I was hoping that I could give them someone to hang out with while I was gone but oh well. Trust me dena I get."
She said sadly.
"Dena it's fine. I don't want you to be upset or make your other friends upset. Your my best friend Claire.
I will do anything for you."
"Thanks." She grinned up at me.
"Anytime. Now come on the lake is just right there!" I pointed the still lake.
"Race ya there?" She said with determination in her voice.
"Your on."
We raced shoulder to shoulder and it wasn't till almost the end when I ran further.
"You cheater!" She pushed me in playing.
"Oh really. I'm the cheater."
We both laughed and pushed each other in the water.
We always play like this. I wouldn't have our friendship any other way.
What can I say?
I have nothin' to lose.
