I didn't get as much sleep as I could've last night but it was more than I have been getting. I showered and then put on black leggings, pink shirt and white knitted cardigan along with slip on pink flats. It was a school day but only my sisters were going, the professor and I were going to the police station then our doctors office.
The smell of food hit my nose, its been so long since I've actually eaten. I ran down the stairs joining my family in the kitchen, I sat in between my sisters and dished some eggs, bacon, waffles and orange juice. I scarfed it all down, my eyes wide at what I just did but my family only laughed making me smile. Soon breakfast was over and my sisters said goodbye, taking off to the sky. I made my way to the passenger seat in the professors car. He made his way outside, getting in, turning to me with a sad smile, "I think you might want this." He handed me my phone.
I smiled, "Thank you professor..." We arrived at the police station, making our way in, I was getting odd stares till I realized I wasn't wearing any make up, they could see the bruises. I shook my head, I'm blossom Utonium, the leader of the Powerpuff girls, yes I was terrified and embarrassed but when has that ever stopped me. I walked with my head held high as we were directed to an officers office.
She walked, "Hello, I'm officer Reynolds, what would you like to see me about?" This girl is just straight to the point.
"Yes, my daughter has been having some serious relationship problems." The professor said awkwardly.
"Sorry this isn't Match.com, we have real cases to get to and you're wasting our time." She replied, not really looking at us.
"Abuse." Was all I said making her snap her head up.
"Huh?" She asked finally focusing on me.
"I'm in an abuse relationship and he won't let me out." I replied, my voice never faltering.
"You could've just said that from the start." She said to the professor, one eye brow raised.
He chuckled awkwardly, "Sorry, it's not something I like saying, I'll be waiting just outside if you need me." He exited and Officer Reynolds turned to me.
"You can start from the beginning, go ahead and take your time, this is a hard thing to go through." She explained with sympathy that shocked me, her hand holding a pencil to a paper to fill out a report.
I sighed, letting the whole story fall past my lip, I didn't realize I was even crying till she was sitting next to me with tissues. Gosh, I'm such a cry baby, that's all I've been doing, "Do you have any proof that this was done to you?"
I nodded my head and show her all of his text and then I had to show her all my bruises. She had to take my phone to make copies of the texts messages and take pictures of all my bruises and scars, so she'd have evidence. She had to go and file out the rest of the report so I just stayed sitting there. I noticed a frame with her, a man, husband most likely, an older boy and a beautiful girl with long blonde hair and about a year younger than me.
"That's my daughter, Jenny she died 2 years ago." A voice said behind me making me gasp and jump up to see officer Reynolds.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't of-"
She laughed, "Calm down honey, it's alright."
I let out a shaky sigh, "If you don't mind by me asking, how'd she pass?"
"I don't mind but let's sit." We went over to her couch and I handed her the frame, "She passed the day after her birthday. She was in the similar situation you were, her boyfriend wasn't exactly Prince Charming even though he definitely had the looks for one." She squeezed the frame tightly causing her knuckles to turn white, "She went out with her friends and told us to not wait up. She accidentally left her phone home and the next day he beat her to death. She never told anyone what was really happening and her brother was who found out first by reading her diary a week after. He was long gone when we went to find him, it explains why he was never at her funeral. It was to painful to stay down there so we moved down here." Her body shook violently and tears slid down her face, hitting the glass of the picture frame. I pulled her into my arms, I couldn't imagine losing one of my own children, if I had any. "You know, I'm glad you came in." She said making me look down at her, "My daughter never told anyone so no one could help her but you were able to tell someone and I'm glad because your mother and father would've broke."
"I actually never had a mother... my sisters and I were actually created in a lab by my father... I know freaky story but this city really needed heroes." I answered.
She thought for a moment, "Wait your a Powerpuff Girl?" She asked.
"Yeah, kind of why I have huge pink eyes..."
She laughed, wiping away her tears, "I hope I can help you sweetie, I'll return your phone as soon as everything's filed and done."
I nodded and got ready to leave but I stopped, "What was his name?"
"Who?" She asked but then shook her head, "Sorry, he went by Logan Wickets but his real name is Rusty Mc Craw."
