Chapter 15

Hikari POV (finally someone else  -_-)

Toko and his friends made us lunch.
I love eating with Toko it's nice not having to ask to start eating.
Father says it's not polite to start eating before everyone's ready and I believe it.
But Dāku says he's just trying to control us.

Toko's friends seem nice.
Toko tells me that one day they're going to be heroes and help kids like us.

Toko himself hasn't really changed much.
Well I mean he's a lot stronger than he used to be.
But he would always be strong for us.
No matter what Father threw at him he would still always give us a reassuring smile.

~Flashback~

"NNNNNOOOOO !!!"
"This is dumb"
"No it isn't!!"
"This is the dumbest thing I've seen"
"It's Not !!"
"He's not going to die he's a main character"
"You Never Know!!"

"If he wants to be a hunter so bad then why doesn't just be one"
"You have to have a license"
"Do you really need a license to kill people?"
"It's not just about killing people !! Being a hunter-"

"And what dose the x even mean?"
"It's just used to separate the words"
"So like 'This x show x is x dumb"
"Y-yes"
"Get down!"

Me and Dāku are watching TV from outside of our neighbors window like we do every morning
The neighbor looked around but went back to watching TV
"Be more quiet Hikari !!" Dāku hissed at me.
"S-sorry"
"*sigh* it's fine we should start getting home"
"O-ok"
"Come on don't be like that .... oh! I know let's go play with Chico"
"Ok !!"

Chico used to be mother's dog but she doesn't care for him anymore.
But now we do.

We made are way home getting a few stares from people around the neighborhood.
I guess it was weird seeing 2 five year olds walking around by themselves.

"Chico!!"
I went around the backyard but still not seeing him.
"Where is he ?"
"Maybe he got out ?"
"But his chain his still intact" I said examining the chain that was tied to his dog kennel.

"Maybe he- "
"I CAN'T !!"
We heard Toko scream from the basement
Curiously we walked inside and press are ears to the basement door.

"I Won't"
"You must"
"You're A Psychopath"
"And you're a tool who's supposed to listen to ME"
"What could they be talking about?" I asked Dāku

Bark Bark !!

'No'
"It's just a stupid dog if you can't kill it then how are you going to destroy your enemies"
"I. Wouldn't. Do. It"
"Look it's simple like this"
"NO"
Whine

"H-he didn't" I whispered
Dāku started tearing up not looking at me.
We could hear sobbing from behind the door.
"Pathetic"
The door opened as Father walked out not even acknowledging our presence.
We ran through down the steps to see Tokoyami holding a small Border Collie surrounded in a pool of blood.

"Chico !!" I screamed as I ran to his side.
"It's going to be ok Hikari"
"That bastard"
"L-Language Dark Shadow"
"H-H-he's going to be ok right Toko ?"
Dāku asked
"Of c-course....he'll pull trough"

.
The next day Toko buried him under our small apple tree.
"Thank you Chico for always being there for us"
"T-thanks for a-always making me h-happy whenever I saw y-you"
"Bye little buddy"
"Thank you Chico you'll always be here for them ........I-I'm sorry this is my fault I should of done something"

"You could rest now"

So this is why Tokoyami doesn't trust himself with animals ~_~
