3rd POV

"This is the worst idea you've ever had"
"It'll work"

Life on the street is had for anyone.
Not knowing when you eat again
Not knowing where you're going to sleep
Not knowing if your safe
Not knowing if you'll see tomorrow

Yes being on the run is hard
Even harder when you refuse to steal.

Tokoyami had been relying on dumpster diving for his daily needs.
But the thing is most of the time the food was spoiled or infected.
And the trash cans with food that was good had locks on them.

"It's right there just go get it"
"So you want me to run into speeding traffic for  an apple ?"
"Yes come on you haven't had an actual apple in forever and I know you've been craving one"
"Exactly an apple not apple sauce !!"
"You can do it Fumi"

In the business street of Tokyo was a small fruit store that was always dropped fruit.
But the thing is Tokoyami still didn't take any even if it would be extremely easy to.

But today was different, instead of the fruit falling under the stands or between boxes it somehow rolled all the way to the middle of the street and stayed there.

And according to Dark Shadow once it was off store property it didn't belong to the store anymore.

"Come on think about it its just going to be there until it gets ran over their not going to miss it"

"*sigh* fine but only because I haven't eaten in awhile"

"That's the spirit!!"

"Don't get used to it"

The apple shined in the sun as cars drove to there destinations.
Tokoyami waited until there weren't any cars in sight.

Tokoyami POV

"Wait
Now go !!!"

I sprinted across the road running towards my prize.
'Almost there...'

"Look out !!"
"Huh?"

Beep !!!

"I'm dead I'm so dead"

"No your not open your eyes"

I looked to see I was in the arms of a Pro.

"Watch we're your going there kid you were almost hit. Luckily for you I know that a lot of cars run red lights in this area so I always come to patrol the street"

"S-Sorry thank you sir"
"Not a problem but be-"

He noticed the apple in my hand and then looked at the store in front of us.

"Oh I see what your doing"
"W-What ?"

"You were trying to steal fruit from that store!!"
"N-No I wasn't I was just-"

"Yeah yeah come on your coming with me"
"W-What !! No I wasn't !!! Let go off me!!"
"Don't try to struggle kid"
"Let me go!!"

"Hey he's with me"
I turned to the sound of the voice.
"You know him ?"

"Yeah he's my friends son we've been looking a over for him"

I looked up to the Pro "N-No he's lying!!!"

"Something the matter Death Arms ?"

"This is none of your business Hawks"

"Well I'm making it my business so what's happening"

"*sigh* this kid was stealing, I caught him ,and now I'm returning him to his guardian that's it"

"I-I didn't steal anything"

"Then what's that in your hand"

"I-It fell into the road I was just retrieving it I swear"

"Look this is taking too long" he motioned to the guy.

"Woo woo woo hold on there how do you know he knows this kid"

"H-He doesn't!!!"

"Yes I do"

"Oh you do ? Then what's his full name"

"...u-uh"

"Exactly leave this kid alone and get on with your day"

"Pft fine"

"So what about the kid he still stoled"

Hawks got down to my level
"Hey kid bird to bird did you really steal ?"

"O-Of course not I would never"
"Heh you see Death you just got this situation all mixed up anyway I'm out of here stay safe kid" he said the last part with a wink and flew off.

Death Arms POV

'This is just a waste of time'

"So kid where-"

He was gone

"Stupid kid"
