Niall wasn't quite sure what to do without Keegan. There had been random times when he hadn't had the boy, sure, but they were never more than a single night. He decided that maybe it was time for him to head back into the studio.
It had been years since Niall had recorded himself singing. With Keegan, he just never had the time. That was exactly what he did. He walked to the recording studio at which he worked, and Niall stepped into the booth himself.
Niall let his emotions out. He could have stood there for hours, singing. Maybe he did. Niall's throat was raw when he finally stopped. The time said it was probably dark outside.
So Niall packed his things and quickly burned the CD so he could fix it at home. He left the studio.

Liam was a nervous driver.
Even as he regularly drove, Liam felt nervous. He was slow and steady. With Keegan in the backseat, all of Liam's normal driving thoughts were amplified by one hundred.
"Leeyum!" Keegan whined. Liam's eyes flashed up to his rearview mirror to make sure Keegan was okay then looked back to the road. "Is we there yet?"
"Almost, babe," Liam promised. "We'll be there in a bit. What toys are you going to get?"
"I want a stuffy!" Keegan squealed, clapping his hands together wildly.
"What kind of stuffy, love?" Liam tried to continue to ask questions. He liked how casually Keegan would answer him, as if the boy was just talking to a friend.
"A doggy! Or a bear! Or a cat! All three?" Keegan immediately stuck his lip out into a pout, as if he didn't think that Liam would buy him the entire world if he asked.
"Whatever you want," Liam assured. "I'll buy the world if you want."
Keegan's little eyes widened. "Can you do that?"
"I don't think so." Liam laughed. "But I'll buy you whatever you want."
"Thank you, Leeyum," Keegan said quietly.
Liam pulled carefully into the parking place of the toy store. As he attempted to get Keegan out of his car seat, Liam frowned. "Do you have any idea how to get out of your seat?"
"No," Keegan giggled. "Da do it!"
"Well, your da is much smarter than I am, I can promise that." Liam smiled a dry smile. With much struggling and little help from the giggling boy in the chair, Liam was able to get Keegan unbuckled. Keegan hopped from the car and held his hand up to Liam for him to take.
"Come on, Leeyum!" Keegan giggled. He pulled Liam across the parking lot hurriedly.
"Slow down, love," Liam laughed, picking Keegan up in his arms. "We don't want to get hit by a car or something, do we?"
"No," Keegan giggled again.
"You're a little giggle box, do you know that?" Liam tickled his stomach a bit. He opened the door of the toy shop.
"Wow," Keegan let out a soft whisper.
"It's pretty, isn't it?" Liam felt like a kid in a candy store too. "To the stuffies aisle?"
"Stuffies!" Keegan shrieked.
Once they reached the aisle Keegan wanted to find, he almost threw himself out of Liam's arms and onto the shelf. "Stuffies!" He screeched again.
"Let me put you down, love," Liam laughed. "Don't want you falling out of me arms."
Liam placed Keegan on the ground, and the small boy ran over to the shelf, picking out the stuffies he wanted. "Can I have these?" Keegan asked with his lip pouted.
"How many do you have?" Liam asked with his eyebrows raised.
"I dunno," Keegan shrugged his little shoulders. "Me can't count?"
"Just hand them to me," Liam chuckled. One by one, Keegan handed his stuffies over, squealing as if he had won the lottery. "Five. You've got five. Do you want them all, love?"
"Can I?" Keegan asked quietly.
"Of course you can." Liam motioned for Keegan to grab onto his hand. "Let's go check out, and maybe we'll get some food?"
"Candy?" Keegan asked with wide eyes.
"No, love." Liam found himself enjoying his time with Keegan. He hoped it would never end. "We'll get real food."
"Nando's?!" Keegan shreiked. The lady that was checking out all of Keegan's stuffies laughed. "We can get Nando's?!"
"You are remarkably like your da." Liam laughed. The lady handed him Keegan's bag of toys. "We'll get Nando's. Thank you."
"Thank you for the stuffies," Keegan said again once Liam had buckled him in the car.
"You're welcome, love. Now we go to Nando's?" Liam gave Keegan a kiss on the forehead before closing his door.

Liam really didn't want to drop Keegan off. He couldn't even do it himself; he had to take Keegan back to Zayn and Zayn had to take him back.
"I want to stay with you, Daddy," Keegan spoke softly on the way home. "I can calls you Daddy?"
"If you want." Liam tried to look down and not let Keegan see the tears of happiness that pooled into his eyes. "I wish you could stay with me too. But you need to go back to your da. I'm sure he misses you."
"Why aren't you and Da together?" Keegan said after nearly a minute of silence.
"I don't think your da is very happy with me right now," Liam said softly.
"He love you. He say it a lot." Keegan fiddled with one of the ears on his animal. "He miss you."
"I miss him too," Liam sniffed. "I wish we were together, Keegan. I really do."
"Why not?"
"Things are complicated, babe. I've got people all over the world that want to see me." Liam blinked the tears from his eyes. "I only wish Niall could be by my side."
"I tell him to f-forgive you," Keegan hiccuped. "You nice, not meanie like I said."
"I'm glad, love," Liam smiled. They parked outside Liam's home. "Time for you to go home, love."
