When Keegan was four months old, One Direction was touring. Niall felt almost as if he wanted to go, but he obviously could not bring a four month old baby with him. So he turned to his mother.

"Mum?" He asked Maura about a month before Liam was due in Dublin. "Could I maybe go see Liam on tour?"

Maura gave him a look. They had talked about this. Niall had decided to keep himsef as low as possible; Liam would not see nor hear from him until he absolutely had to.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Maura asked with a frown.

"He won't see me, Mum," Niall promised. "The only seats I've seen are farther away. I won't pull attention to myself. Just please let me go, Mum!"

"How much are the tickets, Niall?" Maura asked, exasperated. With herself, Niall, and newborn Keegan to pay for, she was getting a bit tight on money. Niall had promised to get himself a job soon enough.

"Only fifty pounds, Mum. I've got the money! As long as you can watch Keegan for me," Niall bit his lip harshly, hoping that his mother would agree.

"Alright," Maura sighed. "But you mustn't come home too late! I am not watching Keegan through the night! And don't let Liam see you!"

"You act like I'm seeing him this moment," Niall giggled. He heard Keegan begin whimpering from upstairs, and he quickly skipped to attend to his little boy.

The day of the concert caused Niall more anxiety than he would have liked. He used his inhaler a lot more than once. Every time he would even begin to think Liam's name, the feeling of not being able to breathe came over him and he was forced to take his inhaler out of his pocket and inhale deeply.

"Are you sure you've got him?" Niall asked worriedly. Maura could understand his worry (he had never left Keegan alone before), and it almost made her laugh.

"I've had two children of my own, remember?" Maura did laugh this time. "We'll be fine, Niall. He'll be asleep by the time you get back. I'll get him fed and in bed on schedule."

"Thank you, Mum," Niall smiled gratefully and grabbed his jacket. He gave Keegan a kiss on the head before leaving.

Niall didn't really have a choice but to go to the concert alone. He had no other friends. He hated to be sitting alone, especially between two strangers, but he had no choice. So he continued on the drive to the theatre where the concert would be held.

Dublin was nearly an hour from his home, so Niall left at almost two in the afternoon. Unlike most, he would not be searching for the boys beforehand. He would be securing his place in line and sit there until the concert.

It was already crowded, three hours to the concert. Niall was sitting outside on his phone, just as the other fans were. He was almost tempted to lose his spot in line to go get a t shirt with the little extra money he had, but for the moment, he decided against it.

"You're cute," one fan babbled in Niall's direction. The blonde had no clue as to whether or not she was actually talking to him, but Niall smiled and nodded anyway. He didn't want to be rude.

How's the baby? Niall texted his mum. Could he be blamed for worrying? It was the first time he had been away from Keegan in four months; twelve if you count the eight months he grew with Niall.

safe and accounted for. stop texting, have fun! x Maura sent back. Was it bad for being worried?

It was later rather than sooner when the line moved. The girls behind Niall were ushering him forward-he had been to occupied on his phone, they had told him.

"So who is your favorite?" The girl in front of Niall spoke. It was a vain attempt in conversation, but Niall answered anyway.

"Liam," he said shyly. He knew from twitter that Liam was often underrated, and he hoped that this girl would not treat him like that.

"Oh, I just love Liam," she gushed, brushing her hair from her face. "I do believe Louis is my favorite, though. I'm Maddie, by the way. Where do you come from?"

"Mullingar," Niall said quietly. "The line is moving, by the way."

"Mullingar," Maddie mused. Niall took notice of how red her hair really was. "Is that about an hour from here? I think I've been through before."

"It's a bit small," Niall grimaced. "But it's possible. My name is Niall, by the way."

"That's nice. Niall. Where are you sitting?" The conversation with Maddie continued on until it was time to go in. Unfortunately, the pair were sitting nowhere near each other.

"I'll see you after the concert, maybe," Niall told her. He had no plans to see Maddie after the concert. He was sure that she was a lovely girl, but Niall felt as maybe she liked him in that way. He couldn't afford that.

"Can I get your number?" She asked quickly as Niall attempted to leave.

"Sorry." Niall watched as Maddie frowned slightly. He didn't look back at her.

The concert was unbelievable, as Niall thought back on it. The boys were positively amazing. It was their up all night tour, and Niall could not have asked for a better time.

He was full of yawns as he continued his drive back home. Niall was cautious enough to pull over and pinch himself violently everytime he felt as if he could fall asleep. He couldn't do anything that stupid. It was the thought of baby Keegan that helped him continue the drive home.

Maura was nowhere to be found as Niall walked into the home. He locked the door behind him and walked to the master room where he found her asleep. That meant Keegan was upstairs in Niall's room.

Niall walked up the stairs with a content smile and a small yawn.
