- Beast Boy POV-

I woke up to the knocking of the door, “King Beast Boy! Sire.” and I quickly sat up trying to put my, ‘I've already been awake for several hours’ voice.

“Yeah?” I said groggily.

“Sorry to wake you.” I heard Miss Busher, our tea Lady, say behind the door.

“No no no. You didn't.” I stretched, “I've been up for hours!” I began to fall back asleep but then woke back up. “Who is it?”

“...Still me. Sir. You're late to breakfast.”

I thought to last night and realized that I never went to bed. The last I remember was working on the paperwork. “What happened last night?” I asked while I got ready in my organic clothing.

“You missed dinner cause you were working on your paperwork.  When we checked on you we found out that you feel asleep so we brought you to bed. You really should do it in smaller portions.”

I came out brushing the last strokes of my hair and threw the brush on the bed. “It's my responsibility Miss Busher. It needs to be done and I'm the only one that can do it. If I don't do it then it'll just pile up till it consumes all my time, period.”

We began to walk down to the dining hall. “I know Beast Boy. But if you can simply do it for 30 minutes three or four times a day rather than two hours then passing out after. It may be better on your health.”

I smiled. I knew that lots of my staff saw me as a friend, especially her. She was a widow left to raise her four year old son Chip before I offered her a job and home. She almost seems like a mother to me at times. But I never tell anyone my real name. “I'll think about it. Thanks Miss Busher.”

She smiled, “Glad to be of assistance.”

We separated so she could get to her morning duties while I opened the door to the dining hall to see tofu eggs, almond milk, and toast with jam waiting for me. I also saw a few remaining servants who took a bit longer to eat and Raven reading a book.

She didn't seem to be paying much attention to her food and instead staring intensely at her book. She was sitting a couple spots down from my spot at the head of the table so I decided to start a conversation.

“I trust that you got your books?” I asked sitting down causing her to look up and put a bookmark in going back to her regular eggs and bacon.

“Yes. Came last night before I went to bed. You sleep well?”

“As well as I usually do.” I told her not wanting to tell her about my bad habit of falling asleep while doing paperwork. And occasionally waking up late.

“I looked around after a bit. Where were you?” She asked drinking what looked like herbal tea.

“Paperwork.” I mumbled then said in a normal tone. “It's been piling up slowly so I really need to work on it more.”

“Understandable.” She said in a monotone voice.

We talked for a bit more before she decided to go read outside. So I quickly finished and went to train.

Another downside to having animal powers is that anger can easily build up due to the large amount of carnivores in the world. So I make sure to exert that anger into training so I don't explode at someone else.

After about a half hour, I decided to go the West Wing. It's been awhile and I could use some comfort. But when I got there, I couldn't believe what I saw causing all that training to go to waste.
