We got close to the location I couldn’t read, via my car, then walked the rest of the way being careful not to be seen. When we all got to the edge, it wasn't too much of a surprise to see a fancy gate with a big garden and castle beyond it. I used my rocket boots while Starfire carried Robin over with her ability to fly.
Surprisingly, as soon as we walked in a few feet, I was able to get a reading of the whole area. “Guys. Come here.” I said quietly so we wouldn't be heard. “I'm getting some new readings, it looks like there's a lot of people living here.”
“The castle staff.” Robin concluded.
“Right. Most of them are in various parts of the castle. But there's also a group outside. But the strange thing is, they're all standing around in a circle. There's someone in the middle that seems to be blinking in and out of existence.”
Robin seemed confused by this but then got serious, “Let's go check it out.”
We quickly but quietly went to the area to see a group of children circling a green blob that seemed to continuously change into different forms. “What are the children doing?” Starfire asked worried.
I pulled up my camera and zoomed in finding out that the green blob was turning into different animals. When it was coldblooded, I couldn't read it on my reader. When it was warm blooded, it was there. “Not what are the children doing, what’s that thing doing?”
Robin thought for a moment. “Cyborg, do you still have that mobile microphone you made a couple months ago?”
“Course.” I said pulling it out. “Why?”
“I want to hear what’s going on. Could you steer it over there without alerting any attention?”
“I’ll try.” I gave them each a pair of earbuds I plugged into the receiver machine saving one for myself. I also hit record to show Raven later. It got within earshot as the green figure took the form of a human
“I think that’s enough guess the animal for now kids.”
“Awww.” the kids said all together.
Then one small boy walked up to him and tugged on the bottom of his pants to get the green boys attention. “Beast King, Did you ever learn to fight as a human when you were a prince?”
We all looked at each other. This green thing was the king. And he had the ability to turn into animals.
The king bent down to the boys height. “It’s Beast Boy. Why do you ask Chip?”
“Cause I want to grow up to be a knight to protect you, my friend!”
He laughed and stood back up, “Well, I did learn quite a bit. Even after I became king.”
“Can you teach us?” a small girl asked running up to him.
“Please Beast King Please?” The rest of the children asked him.
He laughed nervously. “But, I’m still learning myself.”
“Oh Come on!” the kids said.
The King sighed, “Well I guess I can show you a few moves.”
“Beast King’s gonna show us how to kick butt!” the children celebrated.
“Alright. Alright. Calm down. That’s lesson number two. The first and most important lesson is to be gentle. At the same time, we’re being tough.”
“How can you be tough and gentle?” one of the kids asked.
“Yeah! I wanna be tough! Hiya!”
