There are many ways to say "I" in thai

We have almost 10 synonymous for the word "I" alone

Today i am going to teach you some of the most useful ways to say "I"

•●Informal words●•

First of all the most common and basic word for "I" is "Chan"

You can use it in every formal and informal situation

We also use the word "Phi" and "Nong" for "I" and "You" ,.....Phi and Noung doesn't mean 'I' or 'You' but you can use it to refers someone instead of 'I' or 'You' words. Phi means elder brother or sister and Noung means younger brother or sister


Rao ,khao, guu are some words which you can use for "I" when you are talking to your friends

The most informal is "guu" this usually use for close friends

Rao and khao you can use when you are not that close to that friend yet and want to sound more polite talking with friend

•●Formal words for I●•

"Phom" , "gra-phom" for male

"di-chan" , "khaa-pha-jao" for female

Phom , gra.phomdi.chan are formal words which used in office or talking to your boss

Khaa.pha.jao is also formal which you used for official announcement from government and royal family



I suggest you to use chan because it is safest one and used for formal and informal situation
