Difference between "mai" & "chai mai"

Today I am gonna tell you about 2 question words "mai" & "chai mai" and how to use it




●□● Mai ●□●

As you know that "mai" is yes/no question word ,we put it at the end of the sentence when you don't know anything before and you just want to know "yes or no"

For example


Q:- Do you like it?
Ans:- No
Q:- Is it good?
Ans:- Yes
Q:Do you understand?
Ans:- No
Q:- Am I beautiful?
Ans:- Yes




In thai...

Q1:- Do you understand?
        Khun khawjai mai krap?
Ans:- No
           Mai Khawjai krap

Q2:- Am I beautiful?
      Chan suay mai kha?
Ans:- Yes
        Suay kha

Q3:- Do you like me?
     Khun chorp chan mai kha?
Ans:- No
        Mai chorp kha

Etc

2nd question word is "chai mai"

"Chai mai" is used in sense of asking "right?"

"Chai mai" closest meaning in English is "right???"

"Chai mai" used to ask a question that confirms someone's thinking or understanding ,like you think  it "yeah maybe it is right "

For example

You love Music-eater,right?

Khun rak Music-eater chai mai?

Khun=you
Rak=love

Khaw suay chai mai kha?
She is beautiful, right?
Khaw= he/she
Suay =beautiful

Its answer will be
(If you want to say "Yes")
Ans1:- chai kha

(And if you want to say "No")
Ans2:- Mai chai kha

For example I am walking on the road and I see you driving a car,So I would think maybe it is your car but i am not sure if it is yours or not...
So when I meet you I would ask you

You have a car, right?
Khun mee rth chai mai krap

Khun=you
Mee=have
Rth=car

But in case if  I don't know anything about you and I want to know if you have a car or not ,I will use "mai"

Do you have a car?
Khun mee rth mai krap
