Ch 4: The Emerald Forest

You along with the rest of team CFVY stood on a cliff overlooking the lush green Emerald Forest with you were Professors Ozpin and Glynda, you were told to stand on a metal platform while the rest stood in front you, Glynda then steps forward to give the instructions.

Glynda: You will be making your way to the northern end of the forest. There you will find an old abandoned temple and you will retrieve a relic and bring it back to us. We will be monitoring you but keep in mind you shall receive no help from us, Also the collar stays on, any questions?

Coco and the others glance at one another in confusion at the mention of the inhibitor collar around your neck.

You: No that's all I need.

It then dawned upon you that you weren't exactly sure how you were going to get down to the forest from here and just as you thought it you got your answer when the metal platform launches you into the air to the forest.

You: (to self) Huntsmen are insane... But (smiles) I guess it's fine if I show off once in awhile.

As you soar through the air you poured aura into a seed that sprouted into a rose, the rose's stem then extends into a long whip. As you neared the ground you threw out your whip wrapping it around a thick branch, you then swung from it and lightly landed on the ground. Wrapping your whip around your arm, You then looked around the forest and smiled.

You: Feels like home.

Velvet's POV

Yatsu: (telepathy) Did you guys see the look on Y/n'sface when he was launched?

Fox: (telepathy) Uhh...no.

Yatsu: Oh... Sorry Fox.

Coco: (watching Y/n on Scroll) Well he may not have expected it before he did quickly recover.

I also looked down at my Scroll to see Y/n in midst falling accelerated the growth of a seed into a rose then he made it extend into a long rose like whip which he used to safely land to the ground. Ozpin and Glynda were definitely impressed, despite these test originally being just a way for us to test out Y/n's skills, Ozpin had gotten involved due to my idea of using the emerald forest.

Yatsu: Looks like he's found some trouble.

On the screen it shows Y/n being surrounded by a small pack of 4 Beowolves.

Velvet: Will he be ok with just that whip?

Coco: (teasing) Worried about him are we?

Velvet: (slight blush) Coco I'm serious.

Fox: Relax Velvet, after all this was your idea.

Yatsu: Besides remember he did managed to win against me and Fox.

Fox: I never admitted defeat so technically I didn't lose.

Coco: Now you just sound like a sore loser.

Fox: I'm fine with that.

Yatsu: I think he'll be ok, he doesn't even look intimidated.

Looking down at the screen Y/n uncoiled his whip and stood motionlessly as the pack of Grimm circled him. After a few moments the beowolves started to leap at him and without wasting a moment Y/n leaps up and over the Grimm as they piled on top of each other, his whip then goes around one of their necks, as he yanks back on it the beowolf's head comes clean off.

Coco: (whistles) I like his style.

Yatsu: It's not over yet.

Y/n deals with the other three grimm in a similar fashion and then continues on to the temple, it was clear that he was very used to moving around in the forest, it was almost hard to keep up with the speed in which he moved through trees and after about 10 minutes he was already at the temple. To my surprise Ozpin had used the same relics that we had during our initiation test a year ago, on the pillars were stone tablets that were fashioned after a deck of cards each having its own suit to them. Y/n stares at the different relics in front of him before he finally settles on the one with the queen of hearts. I was especially surprised considering that was the same relic I had picked.
