I watched her fall. I watched her hit the ground. I watched her lifeless body spasm alive again. I picked her up and ran. I ran faster than I thought possible. I ran all the back to Candy Kingdom. I stayed by her side until they ripped me away from her. My body was numb and shallow. I felt fragile. I felt smashed under the weight of fate. I needed her. I needed her more than everything. I don't need food, just her. I don't need oxygen, just her. I waited and waited for them to come out to tell me she was dead or in coma. I waited and waited for them to come out to tell she is fine. I wanted to be by her side right now but I couldn't, I couldn't. It took hours but it felt like days. Princess Bubblegum walked over to me and sat down. Her face held sorrow.

She gripped my shoulder,"I'm sorry to tell you but we aren't sure if she will make it through the night. She is in a sedated coma and is stabilized but it's a game. If she makes it through the night she will be fine."

The tears finally started to fall. I sobbed for a few minutes but got myself together.

I mumbled," Can I see her?"

"I don't-" I interrupted her.

"Can I see her?"

"I guess."

I stood up and started walking down the hallway. I took so many turns I don't think I could get back. The last door on the right was hers. I pulled the door open slowly. My breath hitched in my throat when many different scents drifted through my nostrils. The first was of bleach. The second of sanitary wipes. The third death; a mixture of blood and rotting flesh. I swung the door open and saw a candy nurse scattered across the floor. I mean literally scattered across the floor. Bits and pieces of her hard, skin-like shell was thrown in all directions. Her gooey blood-like insides covered the floor. Marceline was hiding under the bed, her hands shook fiercely and her once white hospital gown was now red. I slowly advanced towards her. I saw the fangs slip from between her lips. I stopped at the end of the bed and crouched. She hissed at me. I backed away a little. Before I knew what hit me she was on top of me, shaking me. My head kept banging on the bloodied, porcelain floor causing me to get a throbbing headache. My vision started to blur and my hearing muffled. A scream emanated from behind me. Marceline dropped my head and jumped at the source of the scream.

Then everything went black.
