CHAPTER #1

She could not stop looking at the identification card that she just get a few hours ago, after the whole struggling as an intern then to the probation stage she finally have the right to be called as their official employee.

Being a journalist was actually not on her plan, but as long as she get a check from her writing, she's in for it. Money has been tight these couple of years for her family, ever since her father got scam and later passed away, money always been the problem, it's actually getting better as the time goes by, but she still need those check as a real journalist.

Today here she is, at the palace press room, ready to do her first task as an official media journalist. While her fingers busy writing every information that the palace press secretary release about the new diplomacy agreement with the British, out of nowhere a journalist asked random question about the crown prince marriage at the end of the session. Even though she refer it as tabloid question, but this topic sparks huge attention from the media. Crown prince marriage always been public interest ever since he is at 'the age' of marriage, but as always there is no new information regarding the issue.

"Regarding the crown prince marriage, we will gives you an official statement when the matter happen" said the palace press secretary

"so, is prince Suho dating anyone right now?"

"is it true he's dating former super model?"

And the follow up question just won't end that way,

"and that is the end of press release for today" The secretary end his statement with a bow and that actually can shut everyone up.

"Irene-sshi, I need to go the toilet first you can go wait outside" said her partner who is in charge of the photograph after they are done packing their stuff

"Yes sunbae," she said in courtesy of his seniority, "take your time"

After stepping out from the press room, Irene take her time walking around this grand place that she admire, an old style building with some modern touch where the royal family of Korea lives.

Although the press room located on the new building on the palace complex and far from the main site she still could admire and enjoy the magnificent architecture closer, aside from minor changes and few new building the main palace still stand like how it was unaffected by time. She often wonder what is it feel like to live in such a huge and grand building like this one, an ordinary citizen like her can only imagine.

"It might be fascinating to live here" she said particularly to no one

"be careful what you wish for, living here might not be as fancy as it looks, I bet there are thousand rule to follow and little freedom to choose" the sunbae, who is like to be called Eunhyuk rather than his real name appear just to hear Irene little thought

"you think so sunbae?"

"of course, this place like a fancy prison, do you think those royal folks could do anything they want?" without hearing her answer he add "come on, we need to finish our report"

"have you ever meet the royal folks sunbae?"

"yes I met them here and there, we're on the royal and politics division, we covered everything they do and accomplished, oh wait didn't you said you went to the same college with Prince Suho?"

"yes I do, but I only get a glimpse of him from a distance. Beside we're on different faculty so it's almost impossible to be encounter with him"

"good news for you Irene-sshi, tomorrow we're going to covered the city theater grand opening which of course will be inaugurated by the Prince"

And hearing that makes her heart beating faster from the excitement, she smile widely and couldn't wait for tomorrow to come.

His face clearly shown his disapproval while looking at few pictures of the same girl that offered to him by his mother or people might call her the Queen. They are now seated together at the king and queen main chamber, discussing a matter that will affect continuity of the royal family, the crown prince matrimony. This is the second time in a month that his majesty the King fall ill, and the matter was kept from the public eye for the shake of the country future stability. News about the King unstable health did not ring a positive vibe with the public, especially if the sole heir of the crown still haven't get any succession.

"it's not that I don't want to see you happy, but our family line need to continue. And seeing your father condition, that thing should happen soon"

"I know mother, can you please give me time?" he said in slightly frustrating tone, while he put down the photos of that his mother gave him earlier

"It's your grandfather promise dear, I think you should really consider it!" The queen dowager who also present said, or more like convince him.

He heard this story a few times already, the late king promise to his best friend that they will marry off their children but too bad they both have sons so the promise continue to their grandchildren. And it's not the first time that his grandmother bring this topic up, and also every time he turn it down with the same 'I'm not ready' reason.

But seeing the circumstance right now, the reason seems pretty dull and unacceptable.

"you're 25 right now, and when will you be ready?" the queen who also on the same boat with her mother-in law asked.

Not long after that, the King's doctor come out from the bedroom and brief them with the King's condition. There actually just little problem with his heart and he need a few days rest and few medication.

"As the heir of the crown, you have the responsibility to carry the line of succession" it was the first matter that come from the King's mouth when his mother, wife and first born come to check on his condition. "The promise that your grandfather made also need to be fulfil" he then pause for a while before saying something "Suho-ah, you need to make the decision fast son" The crown prince stunned with what his father said, he never call him son unless he is desperate of expecting something huge from him.

"you should start get to know her and set the date" and he know it's an order not a question

Prince Suho could not object what his father said, there are lot of things in his head right now he only said to give him a little time to settle this matter down to his mother and grandmother.

"It's freaking 21st century, yet they want still force me into an arrange marriage" Suho said particularly to no one when he finally alone
