Princess Hours (2019) [HIATUS]

CHAPTER #8

She could not stop staring at the white and pink Hanbok that hanging neatly on her room, she receive this beautiful dress just yesterday trough a special courier that sent right from the palace.

No matter how beautiful this hanbok is, she just could not brushed her thought of running away and disappear for the time being. This thought appear when she and Jennie hang out together the other day,

"don't you dare thinking you could run away" Jennie said when she walks into Irene's room and see her still not changing her outfit

"I..."

"nope, not going to happen" She insist to sleep at Irene's house last night and participate to send her along with her mother and brother, today is the day she is going to the palace.

According to the tradition, the crown princess must stay at the palace before the wedding to learn some royal stuff, this tradition has been going on for so long and Irene just knew this information last night from no other than her best friend Jennie. 

There will be a simple ceremony, where the head of the family will 'officially' gave her away to the Palace's people and they all wear hanbok and stuff. Since this marriage is still unknown to the public, the ceremony will be taking place at the palace to avoid such a commotion around Irene's neighborhood, and because her father is no longer with them, Jisung as the man of the family will be the one who 'give' her up.  

"you know, if I run away and disappear right now, nobody will get hurt, Jenni-ah, he has a girlfriend"

"no, you have to do this. Think about your mother, what if when she found out that you are missing, the Palace will terror this family and your mother's health will get worse and Jisung is still in High School" 

"yah! How come you are my best friend, you should take my side"  

"I am your best friend, I'm just being realistic. Trying to help you for not messing up with the royals" Irene still hasn't move from where she's standing, 

Jennie knows that her best friend is having a hard time and all she can do is to be there for until it's time for Irene to go "Noona! They're here!" Irene heard Jisung shout from the living room, her time in this house is really coming to an end 

"come on, let me help you do your hair" Jennie grab her best friend arm and guide her to sit on her dressing table  

15 minutes later, Irene come out from her room wearing the beautiful hanbok, her pitch black hair is braids in loose texture to the side and she is wearing light make up that complete the look. Secretary Yoo is already waiting at the living room, chatting with her mother who is already dress to the ninth, her brother also there wearing a suits that she never see. 

"Miss Bae, are you ready to go?" Secretary Yoo ask politely, and Irene just nods slowly still have this heavy feeling to leave her home 

"can my friend come? She is already like a family" 

"If you considerer her a family, then I don't have the right to reject your request"
That thing actually did make Irene feel a little better, Jennie's present really do help her not to break down. How she wish her other best friend, Park jinyoung is also here. Too bad he could not join them since yesterday when they decide to have a 'sudden' bachelorette party. 

There are three black fancy car already waiting for them just outside Irene's house, she and her mother take one car with secretary Yoo while Jennie's and Jisung are on the other, while the other one Irene's guess is for a security reason. 

On their way to the palace, both her mother and her did not exchange a single word, and her mother trying to avoid making an eye contact to her by looking at the window the whole time. Right when they about to enter the palace, Irene taps her mother shoulder slowly
"mom, we're close"
And right at that moment, her mother tears falls from her eyes and she hugs Irene really tight. Irene could feel a wet on her shoulder, and that feeling makes her want to shed some tears.
