Hua, Jeno, Renjun, Chenle, and Jisung were filming NCT Life. After a day full of fun and games, it was time to eat and so whilst Chenle and Jisung were cooking, Hua, Jeno and Renjun were playing piggy in the middle, Hua being stuck in that position as the boys seemed to throw it a bit too high for her to even have a chance of catching.
'Renjun-ge, you are throwing it too high'
'Sorry flower, it's not my fault you are short'
She frowns and sighs, walking away, deciding to check on Jisung and Chenle. Renjun was quick to drop the ball and follow her, dragging her into a hug.
'Im sorry Hua, that was mean of me, I'll try to throw the ball lower this time.'
She shook her head, scrunching her nose.
'It's fine, Jun-ah. I'll just make sure there are no mishaps with Chenji cooking'
She doesn't get far, though, as they young boys came outside to play too. They played for a bit before Shindong and Leeteuk called them over to the campfire that was crackling away. As they passed around the gloves that were provided, Hua took this time to run through the day's activities, smiling at the memories as it was something she hadn't done before. Renjun nudged her gently with his body when the food was brought out, Jisung and Chenle immediately took their deserved cooking credits. Since Hua was allergic to the spice in the sauce for tteokbokki, she had kimbap instead. Since she felt off about having something different from the others, she made sure to give the members some, too. Then came the grilled cheese but she wasn't a big fan so she gave her bit to Renjun. Hua was really excited when the Marshmallows came out, and Jeno was kind enough to give her a bit of his, too.
Once the food was done, Leeteuk and Shindong took this chance to make them reflect on their day. They all enjoyed their day, Hua expressed her happiness whilst watching Renjun fail at the games. He grabbed her into a gentle chokehold, and she let out small giggles. Then it got serious as Shindong and Leeteuk started to say how it must be hard for the Chinese members as they came from further away. Leeteuk expressed that he hoped the retreat helped to get rid of any stress that they had been feeling, and it had helped Hua a lot.
Finally, they had to talk about things that they wouldn't normally talk about with each other. Renjun was asked to do a video letter to his parents whilst Jeno played the guitar. Renjun started to give his video letter in Chinese.
'I know you have a lot of concerns since I've arrived in Korea. I understand that very well. I know that you are worried about me being sick, eating well, and whether or not I am happy. In my opinion...'
Renjun began to cry, Hua and Chenle doing the same.
'I don't think you should worry this much. I am doing well here, NCT DREAM is also helping me. Even Winwin-hyung and the older members are taking good care of me. Don't worry too much, mum and dad...I love you forever'
Hua cried harder and turned to hug Renjun, curling up in his side, and he rubbed her back. Leeteuk turned to Hua sadly.
'Do you wanna speak too?'
She removes her face from Renjun's side, nodding.
'Mum and dad, I know you must be worried about me. Especially since I am the only girl with like a bajillion guys, but I want you to know that...'
She begins to cry harder.
'I want you to know that I am okay, I promise. Like Renjun-ge said, Winwin-ge and everyone else is taking very good care of me, especially Haechan oppa and Renjun-ge. But I want to let you know that I miss you and I love you forever.'
Renjun pulled her in for another hug, and Chenle came off his seat to embrace his fellow Chinese members, them having a little cry session. Leeteuk and Shindong tried to lighten the sad mood before getting everyone to clap for the fact that they spoke about things like that. Then the others took their turns to do video messages, Chenle and Jeno thanking and speaking about the members and how far they have come in just one year while Jisung's was a video about himself which made everyone chuckle.
Soon, it was time to sleep, and they all bundled into the room, getting into their pj's before going to bed. Hua felt it was appropriate to sleep next to Renjun. She curled into his side, and they had a mini heart to heart about their videos to their parents before they fell asleep. The camera panning over everyone's sleeping form allows the audience to see the dreamies asleep, and two of the three Chinese members cuddling whilst asleep.
