More Than my Twin

Chapter 9

(Monday)
*Coby POV*
Yesterday Cory and I spent a lot of time away from each other and in our offices at DPHQ2. When I woke up yesterday he told me about our sister and I instantly shut him out. I guess this is why he is so protective of me. I run away from problems instead of facing them. After a whole day away from each other, today we are spending the whole day together. Today is our birthday and Cory apparently has the whole day planned. I'm just waiting for him to pick me up from my apartment. As I'm waiting, my phone goes off.
Cob-hey Cory you on your way
Cor-sorry Coby but we can't hang out together
Cob-why not
Cor-I woke up and I didn't feel well. I have a fever and I've been puking all morning
Cob-awe. I'm so sorry. I'll be right there
Cor-No Coby. I'll be alright. I don't want you to get sick. I actually called chad and Tim and they are on their way to pick you up. They're taking you out for the day.
Cob-but I want to be able to take care of you and see you on our birthday.
Cor-I know. But I don't want you to get sick. Here if you go and spend the day with them you can come over later and take care of me then
Cob-okay fine. Love you. Feel better
Cor-Love you too.
I hang up and go to my bedroom. I look in the mirror and look at what I'm wearing. Cory's sweatshirt that he gave me to wear a few days ago. It was his favorite one. I take that off and throw it on the bed. I'm wearing plain old athletic shorts so I leave those on. I'm then also wearing a shirt that Cory gave me for Christmas a few years ago so I take that off and chuck it into the hamper. I grab a Dude Perfect shirt from my drawer and put it on. I grab a dude perfect hat and put that on as well. I throw on some sneakers and just as I'm done there's a knock on the door. I go open the door and Chad is standing there.
"Hey where's Tim?" I ask
"He's at the office. Apparently he needed to do some stuff. So it is just you and me today if that okay" he asks
"Yeah that's fine. I just don't know why Cory won't let me take care of him. He always takes care of me. I just want the chance to take care of him" I say
"Don't worry you'll get the chance to take care of him. When Tim and I first started dating it was the same way. He always cared for me and then he got sick and he didn't want me to take care of him because he didn't want me to get sick." chad says
"Yeah I remember you calling and complaining to me about that" I say
"Yeah. So let's go and do something. I know the other guys are busy with their families today so we can go to a fun center and fool around" he says
"I don't know. I really wanted to spend my birthday with my twin on his birthday" I say
"Fine. Let's just sit here and watch some movies" chad says
"Ok" I say
We sit down and Chad puts in a movie. I look and see that he chose AirBud.
"Why" I ask
"Because" he replies
I shake my head and recline on my couch. Apparently I fell asleep during the movie because the next thing I know Chad is shaking me awake.
"How long was I asleep for" I ask
"About 4 hours. Let's go to DPHQ2" he says
"Ok" I say
We go to his car and he starts it up. After a bit we arrive and get out. He runs inside and I slowly saunter in. I walk in and I see that the lights are off.
"Chad! Why do you always have to like it darn in here? One day you're going to run into something or fall on your face and I'm going to laugh" I yell
I then turn on the lights and jump back scared
"Surprise" everyone, including my twin, yells
"Cory are you trying to give me a heart attack? I thought you loved me" I say
"Oh Coby I do love you but I never get to surprise you because you usually find things out so I surprised you" he says
"Yeah. Well you did a good job. Thank you" I say
"You're welcome." He says
"Happy birthday twins" Cody says
"Thank you" we say
"Twins happy birthday. Now enough chit chat let's do something" Garrett says
"Oh yeah you're all going down in pool" I say
"No way. We are not playing pool" Tyler says
"Yeah we are. It's our birthday and if Coby chooses pool we're playing pool" Cory says
"Suck up" Cody calls out
"Yeah well this is what happens when you love someone" Cory says
"Can we stop yelling and start playing" Chad asks
"Yeah" I say
"Wait how are we doing this? Are we playing teams?" Tyler asks
"There's an odd number of us and a lot of us" Cody says
"Let's do Coby and Cory as team captains and we'll play teams and just rotate who is taking the turn to shoot. One team will have one less person" Garrett says
"Okay but why are Cory and I against each other" I ask
"Because you guys are really good" he says
"Okay fine. Cory choose first" I say
"No you choose first. This is your party" he says
"No. It's our party and I'm telling you to go first" I say
"You know what I'm on Coby's team, Tim you are with Cory" chad says
"Why are we split up" Tim asks
"Hey if they have to be split up we will be split up" Chad says
"Fine" Time grumbles
"Okay, I'll take Tyler" I say
"I'll take The purple hoser" Cory says
"Who gets Cody" I ask
"We can flip a coin" Cory says
"Ok. I'll get tails" I say
"Fine heads. hey Siri flip a coin" Cory says
"It's heads this time" Siri says
"Alright" Cody says
"Can we flip the coin again" Cory asks
"Nope" Tyler says
"Wait what's so bad about having me on your team" Cody asks
"Tall guy I hate to break it to you but you're not that good at playing pool" Garrett says
"Fine you know what, I won't play. I'll be the mediator because we all know either the rage monster will activate or the twins will argue about a shot" Cody says
"No we won't. Ever since we started dating we've changed" I say
"Cobes don't you remember a few days ago and that wresting match" Chad asks
"That doesn't count." I say
"Why not" Tyler asks
"Because Ty, we had to wrestle. Garrett, Tim, Chad, and Cody were taking bets on who out of the two of us is a better wrestler even though we've never wrestled before in our life" Cory says
"Ok okay enough chit chat let's just play. Cory break" Garrett says
We play our game of pool and my team wins. We then eat food and hang out some more before Cory and I go to his house. We go up to his room and get ready for bed. Once we are ready. We climb into bed and turn on a movie where I end up falling asleep halfway through next to the love of my life.
