God appeared suddenly in his extended stay hotel room at the Staybridge Suites in Reno, Nevada. As he stopped by the entry way, Chuck hung his new Oregon keychain on his states of America board.
About twelve states in, and he still hadn't yet found Balance. Although he knew that he should catch up with Amara and tell her about Balance's reemergence, Chuck also knew he should probably take a breather before he picked an unnecessary fight with his sister.
In the next moment Chuck was sitting on a bench in Moorpark Park of Studio City, California. Chuck sat on a park bench in a fresh, bullet hole free shirt and jeans watching some local pet adoption event and eating popcorn.
He watched as young children dragged their parents from one area to the next looking at the puppies and kittens up for grabs. Taking another handful of popcorn, Chuck contemplated just how close these unsuspecting people came to being wiped from existence today by his hands. Maybe his response to being shot was a bit extreme. However, his destruction of this universe was justifiable in his mind because he no longer found as much entertainment in the storyline of these particular rebellious creations. Luckily for this universe as a whole, Chuck discovered a person of interest on this planet, now he just had to track her down. Putting his thoughts aside and vanishing his popcorn, Chuck got up to go admire the cats up for adoption. After all, the apocalypse was now off the table so maybe he could take one home with him. "Surely Amara won't mind" Chuck thought as he leaned closer to view the black and white ragdoll kitten, "Yeah, Amara won't mind. She's going to love you."
