It was quiet but the air was unbearable you could cut it with a knife how thick it was. And all that the doctor could say was "Yes, we were attempting escape." he lowered his head in disappointment. The interviewer wasn't satisfied and started asking questions like: 'Why? why do you want to escape?" when he said those things the people behind the glass noticeably tensed up from what he had asked knowing the doctor wasn't going to like it. "Why?..." the doctor asked sarcastically. Now he crossed a line and he wasn't going to like what was going to happen next... "Because this place, HA!, this awful place this dreadful... You don't want me getting started at how much I despise it here let alone the people here and I'm not just talking about what you do to the other scps here but what you do to the people you bring here to practice inhumane tests on them day and night! And you ask WHY I would rather spend my life outside of your concrete walls!" now he was mad... You could see the tears building up in his eyes and his posture growing more fragile. The room fell silent and the interviewer apologized. But that didn't change anything. The air was now unbreathable but 049 was breathing heavily trying to keep his cool. One of the researchers ordered this interview to be stopped for a while so the doctor could calm himself. They left him in the interview room to save time and moved away from the glass to gather the information they had received. The interviewer also left the room leaving the doctor and his thoughts to infest his mind.
The doctor stood up from his chair and paced around the room for seemed like hours. He stopped and leaned on the wall of the room. He slowly slid down into a ball and covered his head with his hands. "Now ill be stuck here for longer then eternity, I've lost my only chance at getting out...There is no way in heck that mask will be back for me anytime soon..." he let a teardrop from his eyes as the room quickly filled with darkness. The doctor was confused but also curious. He stood up stumbling back a little as he was still recovering from his leg being shot. The darkness got overwhelming seeing that everything in the room that was there before was now gone. then a bright light caused him to cover his eyes with his arm. The light passed and the doctor opened his eyes seeing something he had never before.
A girl stood in front of him she had a black dress that appeared to be flowing in the wind despite the fact that they were inside and the same went with her hair. She had very pale looking skin almost like when someone had been dead for quite some time she was almost transparent. but the most off-putting thing about her was her face... Her face reminded him of the mask... Her eyes were closed but a black liquid seeped from the corners of them and her mouth. She was very peculiar but before the doctor could say anything he was cut off by the girl.
"Hello, I just wanted to say to not give up hope!" The little girl grined with glee and all the doctor could muster up was
"What?"
"Oh right sorry, I completely forgot to introduce myself!" She giggled "My name is- Oh wait I can't tell you! I don't trust you enough yet. All I can say is that we are in my old room, can you believe it, what a coinkydink." she seemed rather energetic...
" Oh well, I guess all I come to say is that you shouldn't doubt mask, he will get you out and all the others too! Don't worry I'll help him, he's in good hands!" she smiled off-puttingly
"Wait what no don't go near him" the doctor confronted the child
"oh well, I guess it too late he already know somethings up. Oh, and you've got company so I'll be on my way."
"Wait!" the doctor yelled as the room slowly turned back to how it looked originally. The light seemed to be brighter than ever and the furniture was back in its place. The doctor just stood there dumbfounded as the interviewer stepped back into the room and asked if he was feeling alright and if he would mind if they continued.
The doctor hung his head down and looked at his feet. He noticed something... Black dots on the floor. He crouched down to investigate and took a little of what seemed to be a black liquid onto his finger. He noticed it instantly eating away at his skin. He sprang back up and briskly wiped his finger on the wall seeing as the liquid was even more corrosive then masks if it even was anything like masks.
The interviewer pulled the doctor back to reality when he asked what was the matter. He then noticed the black liquid on the floor and his face almost instantly turned to horror. He retreated out of the room and addressed the other researchers. They all left in quite a hurry and the doctor was once again left with only his thoughts. Still standing processing everything that had just happened.
What's the hustle he thought and why where the researchers so dismayed by the black fluid. Is it deadly? probably...
He sat down once again and starred profusely at the black ooze on the floor casually drowning in his mind's thoughts.
