"NO!" I screamed as my body flung up, I struggled to breath. I wasn't at the field anymore, I was at home in bed...
"Stupid nightmares... I got it right! Why do I keep dreaming about it going sideways?..." I screamed at myself. Trying to slow down my breathing I realized I had to go pick up Mask from that field. I reached up to my cheeks, which where sticky to the touch, looking down at my hand that where now completely drenched in black. I groaned.
"let's just get this over with..." I stood up and walked up to the mirror and sink that was conveniently placed in my room for times like these. I turned the tap and collected cold water in the palms of my pitch black hands. The water rolled down my face as the black liquid flowed down into the drain with it. I looked up into the mirror at my face. My eyes where drowning with darkness that was slowly drained away as it flowed out of the corners of my eyes. I sighed and looked away from the half shattered mirror. The silence was suffocating...
"Stupid-... Ugh..."
I turned off the water and walked over to the door. The room I claimed as my own was the only one that had a lock on it's door. I unlocked it and left the room. I looked to my right to find Lanky peacefully sleeping at the blobs side who was cuddled up in his long arms. They where both on top of the crimson sofa that I liked so much. 'Cute' I pondered leaving the cabin. I looked back at it from the outside and got lost in thought.
It was rather cozy and small but the memories that it held where the only reason I stayed... If one of us where to remember, might as well keep what helps to keep the memories alive close by... Anyways. I walked over to the forest sparing the cabin one last glance as if it was the last time I'd see it.
Soon I was at the foundation. I entered it's walls and viewed the field I dreamt of. My face turned to disgust and filled full of spite. I leaned against the wall and looked around. Soon I saw a figure walking closer towards me. It was the mask. 'Finally' I thought.
"Well hello again..." He waved his hand a bit annoyed. "Why did you have to leave me behind!?"
No one's POV
"Okay, calm down I had to leave otherwise there would be no one to even get you out today. The MTF was really close to getting us and I wasn't about to let that happen." The girl explained. She turned and walked out of the gate. They where out once again. They began walking in silence only hearing the crunching of dry leaves beneath their feet until the girl spoke again.
"So, what did you do with all that spare time on your hands?" The girl asked and raised an eyebrow smiling widely with her dimples deeper then he'd ever seen.
"Well I uh- I just hung around Docs cell that's all." He answered looking away, turning his smile upsidedown.
"Right, well anyway we're here." She said as she started to skip towards the house surrounded by lavender bushes. It was the house that he first met her in. They entered the house and closed the door behind them.
"So um make yourself at home. Look around maybe you'll find something interesting." She said with a careless voice. She then walked off to a room and closed the door behind her. The action was followed by it being locked shut and a light 'click' sound.
"Ok?" He mumbled quietly to himself while his eyes darted around the living room. There was a crimson carpet and sofa which was oddly familiar. Lanky and 999 where sleeping there. A wooden table with a coffee mug full of what looked like tea and a bucket? The contents where curious. The bucket was almost filled to the brim with what looked like tar...
"what the-?" he asked himself curiously. He moved closer and kneeled down to it but decided not to examine it further being repelled by it odd look and strong metallic stench. He stood up and looked around some more. There was a door he didnt notice was there before. To be fair he has probably only seen a small part of the house. After all there was still another floor to look at...
Walking closer hand stretched out to the handle he suddenly got trampled by a giant wave of déjà vu. It was like he had been there already. As off-putting as it was he proceeded to complete the action of opening the door and taking a peak inside. There was a familiar scent to the room on the other side of the door, one that's not easily forgotten...
He finally opened the door and his eyes widened. He stared, dumbfounded, at the wooden table that he knew so long ago. The one always covered in blood and fleshy mush. The one that always had a vase of lavender sitting on top of it purifying the chaos around it. The one that the doctor used as an operating table... In 14th century.
"We're in France?..." He said with a shaky voice. He backed out of the room and closed the door in his own face.
"No. This can't be right we are no where near France. Were close to ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛!" He straightened his thoughts and gathered his courage to open the door once more and take another look inside. The door creaked open once more as his head popped back into the room. His head began spinning. He wasn't sure how they can possibly be here...
"Hold on..." He thought as he remembered more... Although these memories seemed to be completely absent from him until he saw that table... That fricking table...
A big part of his life his, forgotten... But how? There was no way that he could have forgotten all these things... He decided to walk around some more. He decided to check the second floor and made his way up the stairs. They looked so ancient he was waiting for them to cave underneath his feet. He looked around the second floor to find two doors one at the left and one at the right. He felt as though something had been pulling closer to the right. Like he wanted to remember or to see something that was kept there.
He inched closer to the door forcing his arm up to the knob because he felt like he was about to freeze with fear and confusion. He turned the knob and peaked inside to find what looked to be the master bedroom. Two pillows and a shared blanket was neatly set on top of the bed. It was like someone was keeping it free from dust and spotless for quite some time.
He walked over to the bed caressing the top of the wooden footboard. A memory seamed to have seeped into his mind. It was of him... And Doc... They where in the bed together fast asleep. Doc was laches onto his arm and was cuddling closer. The memory disappeared but he kept it close in fear of losing it again. He walked out and shut the door leaning his back against it. He looked at the floor below him and then at the door right infront of him. He came over to it, this time not hesitating to open it.
Once again he looked inside and was submerged in more of what looked to be his own memories. It was a child's room. A small bed with a black sheet over it was placed in the farthest corner from the door. The rooms walls where covered with children's drawings of him, doc and... And what he made out to be the girl he was with a few minutes ago holding our hands when he came closer. He stumbled back but couldn't turn away until he heard a voice behind him in the doorway.
"Do you remember?..." he turned to see who it was and to his unsurprise it was the girl... She walked into the room and looked at the same picture he had.
"This one was always my favorite. I used to stare at it for days on end always showing it to you both when you werent busy scamming the whole town with your well thought-out lies." She continued.
"Remember the first day you found me? Alone and scared in the middle of the street trying to steal food. I tried to kill the lady who wouldn't give me any but Doc stopped me. You brought me home as you both saw that I wasn't like the rest of the children... I was unique... It's what doc always used to tell me." She chuckled.
" And in the end as Doc held my hand and led me out of the house you could've heard a muffled scream and a slight sign of struggle when you killed her yourself anyways..." He was receiving too much information at once and couldn't say a thing.
"This," she reached up to the right side of her head." This flower is the thing you two got me for my first ever Christmas. For you it was also your first Christmas because you couldn't have bothered to celebrate it..." She shrugged and held the black flower up in both her palms. "Black Velvet... The one and only black flower on this planet."
"It was Unique, just like me..."
