They reached the outside and the smell of death and dread instantly filled their noses. The first thing they saw was the girl blocking bullets with giant black spike-like structures that emerged from the ground below. Right around the corner, a second battle was taking place with the MTF trying to contain 682. Although, it appeared as though they weren't exactly winning.

173 was already up ahead speeding towards the initial onslaught. Mask was about to run after them when he felt a firm grip grasp at his clothes. He turned to see the doctor with a worried expression on his face and wide golden eyes.

"You can't go there! What if something happens or you- you would-"

He turned his body to face the doctor placing his cold hand on the others ceramic cheek. He came closer.

"Darling, I know, but I need to help, you should be the one to stay here, nothing against you dearest but the odds aren't exactly in your favor when you're against someone with a gun.

"and you're porcelain, you're fragile and a single bullet can kill you in an instant!" He protested.

" I- ... I don't know if you remember but do you think you can recall  that time you saw a flash of light outside of your cell?" The doctor thought for a while while the battle still raged on behind them thinking what this random question had to do with anything. Finally, he spoke.

" Yes, I do actually. Why?"

"That was me Doc, I was there and then there was the breach and- and what you said in the elevator. I didn't hear the last sentence I want to know what you said!" He thought again looking away, but both the masks hands pulled his gaze back up to face him as he cupped his face in them.

"I-... I said that I-"

They were interrupted by screaming that came closer and closer, louder and louder. It wasn't human, and they looked up to the field. It was 096? He must've come back from the house. That wasn't the only thing that caught their attention. The girl was on the ground obviously wounded and it looked as though the remaining humans, undisturbed by the other scps were coming in to finish her.

The mask didn't think he just acted, and before he knew it he was before her his blood-red tentacles rising from the destroyed gravel bellow. Bullets whizzed by them and the tentacles blocked most of them just in time. The ones they didn't block luckily only hit masks host. He could hear doc shouting back at him to come back. He tried his best to ignore it, in the meantime, he looked over to the young figure lying motionless face down.

His arms reached out to her body and he cradled her limp body in his arms. Hesitating, when he saw her face, which was completely drenched in an ink colored fluid. Suddenly, her pitch-black eyes shot wide open and she sat up. Their foreheads collided and the girl winced in pain falling back down.

"damn it! It's bad enough I feel everything 682 does. Who-" Her eyes lit up and the glistening sunlight that reflected in her dark eyes grew clearer and brighter when she saw the mask. He didn't want to ask about the whole black goop situation at this time so he shrugged it off.

"Are you okay?" He asked worryingly "Ugh yep I'm fine sorry about that I must've used up too much of my energy... I'm getting tired I feel like this isn't going anywhere..." She thought for a moment looking around the tentacles the mask spawned around them.

"Although I might know what to do, I'll need all of your guyses help. I need to get mason and myself alone I need to convince him that there's another way or a better way of doing things." the mask simply nodded, let go of the girl, and covered himself as he despawned the tentacles. He whispered the same thing into every ally's mind and they got ready to defend the now present structure.

This structure was of the same black spikes that were scattered on every inch of the battlefield. However, the area inside was spacious only holding the girl and mason captive within.

The outside however was full of life as well as constant death. more people would come and they'd kill them all and then more would come. It was hard to keep up.

The mask was at the doctors side, the redish appendages that he had spawned had been killing whoever got too close. The statue darted around the field seemingly at random and had almost been contained two times before. 682 was, well, destroying everything and everyone in its path per usual. 109 had been doing the same although must've retreated into his pocket dimension some time ago presumably with a bunch of people inside. Although he had resurfaced seconds later to get more people in.

However, something on the other side of the field had caught everyone's attention. Human-like screaming which wasn't actually that human-like that was followed by flashes of white and red. Someone must've triggered him. Peanut, who didn't notice his presence earlier, noticed this and got them to work together as quickly as they could.

While they were darting around killing people as the greatest duo ever 106 had accidentally emerged at the wrong place at the wrong time, unintentionally tripping 096. He thought about no apologizing but when he looked over to who he hurt he froze. 096, still on the floor, was sobbing seemingly unfazed by the incident.

He never saw this scp before but it looked so familiar. Its skin, hugging its bones tightly with barely any muscle in between them. The sight of it was unnerving but there was something else there that wasn't quite too common. He couldn't quite put his finger on it. He definitely never saw this scp before... Right?

"Uh- hey sorry about that." He tried to help the other back up but realized it probably wouldn't work as well as he thought it would due to the height difference. 096 looked at him through his bloody fingers. He looked away quickly and stood up still sobbing.

"It is ok..." His muttered word almost incomprehensible just beraly being heard through the sounds of death and rapid gunshots. He looked as though he was ready to walk away but quickly covered his face back up screaming intensely. 106 observed as he began to run towards the helpless guards and tear their body to tiny, mushy bits. Shortly after he reminded himself of his own plans and left to get more people into his dimension.

To put it simply things were going accordingly, but do they really deserve a happy ending? Let us hope their hopes won't be shattered this time. After all, everyone deserves a second chance...
