16) I could feel it

Mitchs POV

"I... I've got..... M.. My memory.......!" Vik says as he lets to go of Lachlan.

"What?!" I hear Rob say.
How is that possible?
"Hold up. Are you saying that your memory was taken away?" I ask.

Vik nods.
"Everyone's was. Tell me, do any of you remember what happened before Herobrine? You feel like you know each other but you can't remember where from?"

No-one answers, I'm just shocked at how fast Vik is speaking.
"See? You don't remember because your memories have been wiped."

"So is it possible to get them back?" Preston asks. Everyone but Vik murmurs in agreement.

"Yes, yes it is." I hear Notch chip in as he suddenly appears.
"I trust you all enough to unveil,..." Notch explains.
".....But that's not the point. Your memories can be retrieved but Vik was the only one powerful enough to handle the experience right now."

Why is that? How is he more powerful? Vik turns to look at me. Fudge, I forgot he might be able to read minds.

"He said more powerful right now. Not more powerful than you." Vik says, confusing a few people.
He CAN read minds. I'll need to be careful.

I see Vik squinting his eyes at me.

I can tune out your minds if I want. I won't read minds unless needed. This was a slip up since I'm new to it.

I could hear Viks voice in my head. I shake my head.
"Still, that might create some trust issues....." I trail off as everyone looks to me.... Fudge.

Vik clears his throat and they all look to him. "I can read minds....." Everyone looks a little scared and shocked. "....I can control it so I won't read unless it's needed. I understand if you don't want to trust me." Vik says sounding a little disheartened.

"I trust you." Lachlan says. Notch nods in agreement. Rob looks thoughtful, Preston seems sceptical, Jerome just shrugs.
"I'll just be cautious but I trust you enough." he says. I just look at Vik. My eyes showing my distrust. Vik looks slightly sad but doesn't let it show to much.

"When can we get our memories back?" Jerome says to change the subject. I gladly go along with it.
"Yeah."
"Soon." Notch says.
We all nod but Vik since he's already got his back.

Robs POV

Im wondering.......If Vik could of read my mind after I healed him...I might of put a little distrust of me in him. Now he's asking us to accept that he can control it. I'm willing to, I'm just going to stay cautious.

-A While Later-

I decide to talk to Vik after we all calmed down. I walk up to him and Lachlan, they are smiling and Vik looks happy.

"Hi guys, sorry if I'm interrupting anything." Vik shakes his head. Lachlan looks at me.
"Nah you're all good." he says while he pats the ground for me to sit. I do.

"I was wondering, Vik. You read my mind after I healed you correct?"
"Yes I did. I can understand why you thought what you did. I would've too." He says smiling. I see Lachlan looking at me intently.

"I would like you to know that I do trust you. It's just hard for everyone to trust anyone right now as you know...." Vik nods.
"Thank you Rob, know that I trust you too and would like to be friends with you if that's ok?"

I smile.
"I'd love to be friends." We end up chatting for a while and soon enough Preston joins, then Jerome and Mitch. Mitch looks sceptical of Vik, I wonder why. Vik does notice but tries not to let it bother him.

It must be hard for Vik to have his memories but no-one else does. It puts him in a situation of people being jealous. I for one am not jealous of Vik. I will get mine when I am able too.

Jeromes POV

I see everyone chatting over in a group.
"Do you want to go join them?" I ask Mitch. He shrugs.
"If you want."
"Is everything ok?" He shrugs again.
"Yeah......no. It's Vik..." He looks at him, chatting away.

"What's up buddy? You can tell me right?" I say to hopefully understand what's going through his mind. Mitch nods and takes a breath.
"You remember that day that I told you about when Vik read my mind?" I nod.
"Well, I got scared when he looked at me as he read it. So I thought something that I shouldn't of..."

What does he mean? Mitch looks to me.
"I think I'm the reason why he's so distrusting of everyone. I made him feel like a freak. I know that because I could feel it from Vik as he walked away after Rob healed him...."

I'm shocked....
"Hold on... Mitch, can you feel what others feel?" he nods.
"It seems like it. Like right now Rob and Lachlan both feel happy. Preston is feeling much less sceptical, and Vik is trying to hide his feeling of isolation from everyone."

"Isolation?" I ask Mitch.
"Why would he feel isolated?"
Mitch looks at me.
"Because he's the only one who's got his memories and he probably remembers something about himself that either we didn't like or he couldn't share for fear of losing his friends."

I understand now.....
"Shall we go over there?" I ask again.
Mitch nods so we get up and walk over to the rest of the group.

Notchs POV

I could overhear some of what Mitch was telling Jerome as my enhanced hearing suddenly caught something he said.

"....that because I could feel that from Vik as he walked away after Rob healed him...."

I had a feeling Mitch would inherit that..... I decide to focus back on what Preston was asking everybody.
"OK, I have a question. Vik,.." Viks eyebrows shoot up as he waits for the question.
"....Do you.....

This whole chapter (minus this section) is 999 words..... Lol.
Anyway, I thank you guys so much for reading my story. It means so much to me. It's as exactly at 600 when I posted this. That's totally insane!

This story currently is about Vik and his memories, I will add a few things for the other characters soon... So stay tuned!
