Spring break was here and Ford deicide to take Mabel and Dipper to the lake to camp for the next couple of days. The weather was going to be perfect for it. Dipper and Mabel was finishing up packing for the two day camping trip when Ford came in their room.. "Are you two ready?" Ford asked poking his head in the door way. "Almost but I think Mabel is more interested in talking to her bag than she is packing it." Dipper said and pointed his thumb behind him toward Mabel. Mabel was at the side of her bed with her bag in front of her and the belongs that were supposed to go in the bag sitting at the side. "Mabel? Can you please put your 'conversation' with your bag on hold and pack it please?" Ford asked putting two fingers up in the air and making quotation marks with them when saying the word 'conversation'. "No, not yet. I am waiting for the bag's consent to pack it first." Mable said "Mable, the bag can't talk. It's not alive." Dipper said confused by his sister's behavior. "Did you end up eating the mushrooms outside? I noticed some were missing but I thought the goat got them." Ford asked figuring that Mabel was hallucinating caused by the missing mushrooms. "No I didn't eat the mushrooms. I'm not stupid. It's just the bag is making noise and moving by it's self so I figured it gained sentience." Mabel said. "What do you mean by it making noise and moving?" Ford asked now stumped by what his great niece said about the bag. "Just what I said. It's moving and making noise." just then they heard squeaking coming from the bag. "Let me take a look inside and stay back from it. I think it's either a rat or a mouse and I don't want you kids getting bit." Ford said as he took a look inside the bag. He quickly closed it and dumped it outside the window in a quick speed. "It was a mouse in there. So no Mabel, your bag as not gained sentience but good vocabulary word." Ford said and gave Mabel the bag and rubbing his hand on her head. "We are leaving in 15 minutes so be ready." Ford informed and left the room. "Dipper do you think that mouse survived?" Mabel asked packing her stuff. "Probably not but who knows. It's Gravity Falls, anything can happen." Dipper pointed out. In fifteen minutes they got into the car and everything was packed. The kids are in the backseat waiting for Ford to get in. "Take care of those kids. If anything happens to them while on your watch, I will kill you!" Stan threatened Ford yelling across the yard. "Don't worry Stanley. The kids will be fine." Ford said trying to calm his brother down. "Alright, I'm trusting you. Don't screw it up." Stan warned. "Don't worry. I will make sure the kids are safe." Ford said in a slightly annoyed voice. Ford got into the driver's seat and put on his seatbelt. You two have your seat belts on?" Ford said adjusting the mirror to have eye contact. "Yes grunkle Ford." Mablel answered sweetly in her usual cheerful voice. "Yeah." Dipper answered not really even looking at Ford but Ford let it go as Dipper wasn't in trouble though he would like eye contact from his great nephew. Ford started up the car and started down the road. Dipper and Mabel looked outside the window. "Kids?" Ford said getting the attention of Dipper and Mabel. As soon he noticed he has eye contact with both of the kids he spoke "I want you to behave. If you do that this trip will be fun for all of us but if you don't there will be plenty of switches around." Both of the kids nodded. The rest of the drive went on normally. They eventually reached the Gravity Falls campsite. Ford, Mabel, and Dipper could see the lake pretty clear from their campsite. The kids helped Ford set up the camp. They put up the tents and got out anything else they needed. In a few hours It started to get dark. "I am going to get some wood to start a fire. Stay near the tents. If something happens where you are in danger lock yourself in the car. I won't be gone long." Ford said standing up. "Okay grunkle Ford." the kids said in unison. Ford smiled and ventured away from the camp and eventually disappeared. Dipper gone into the twin's tent to get something out of his bag. While Dipper was in there Mabel scanned the area when something caught her eye. It was like an animal she had never seen before. "Hey Dipper! I see some type of animal. I don't know what it is though." Mable called out. "Don't care!" Dipper called back. "Rude!" Mabel huffed. The animal had a small green body with long colorful feathers sticking out of it's back. It started to trail into the forest, without thinking Mabel took off after it not noticing that the camp was no longer in view. Ford came back to the camp and called out for the kids not seeing them anywhere. "In here." Dipper responded coming out of the tent. "Mabel!" Ford called out. Getting no response he started to panic.. "Where's your sister?" Ford asked Dipper. "I have no idea. The last I heard from her is when she said that she saw an animal that she didn't recognize and then it fell silent. I had no idea she left." Dipper explained. "We have to find her! It's almost completely dark out. I am going to leave a lantern on top of the car so we will find our camp after we get your sister." Ford spoke in a panicky voice. Ford switched on a lantern at put it on top of the car. Dipper got his flashlight and gone with Ford to find Mable. Dipper wasn't sure who was more worried. Ford had the fear of Stan beating him up and he had the fear of having another close family member going missing. His parents being missing is really hard on him and he wasn't sure if he could handle his sister going missing. "Grunkle Ford? What are we going to do if we don't find Mabel?" Dipper asked. "I don't know Dipper. Let's hope we can find her." Ford answered in a kind tone. "Is Mabel going to be in trouble?" Dipper asked a second question unsure of Ford's track of mind. "It depends. If your sister is in any danger or hurt in any way then no but other then that, yes." Ford answered. Mabel wasn't sure where she was or how to get back to camp. The animal disappeared on her and it was almost pitch black. Nobody told her what to do if she got lost. The only thing she could do was sit by a tree and hope someone finds her. She hoped who ever finds here would be friendly and try to help her. It was now pitch black. Mabel couldn't see a thing. She let out a few tears and was beginning to miss her great uncles and her brother. Would they ever find her? "Mabel!" Ford called out. He wasn't sure if he was getting closer to Mabel or farther away from her. "Grunkle Ford, I'm scared that we will never find her. I don't want to lose another family member." Dipper said beginning to cry. "Calm down buddy. Breathe. We will find her. I'm scared too. Just calm down. We will find her. Don't cry." Ford said wiping the tears of Dipper's face. Ford hugged him until Dipper calmed down. "Okay, let's continue to search for Mabel." Ford suggested. Dipper nodded and followed Ford. Mabel was fully crying now. She couldn't see. Noises seemed to happen all around her. Mabel was calling herself stupid for letting a animal lead her away from their camp. "Mabel!" Mabel froze for a split second. She even paused her breathing for a moment. "Mabel!" she heard Dipper call out. The first time was Ford. "They're close!" Mabel said to herself. "Over here! Where are you?!"Mabel hollered back. Dipper and Ford didn't expect an answer. "It's Mabel!" Dipper yelled in happiness. "Sweetie! Just keep yelling at us! We will follow your voice." Ford yelled. "Please Hurry! I hear noises all around me and I can't see anything!" Ford and Dipper continued to run toward Mabel's voice and eventually seen Mabel standing. Her back was turned to them. "Mabel!" Dipper said loudly. Mabel turned around and ran toward them. "I was starting to miss you two. I'm sorry I ran off. I just seen the animal and I-" Mabel was cut off from Ford shushing her. "Lets talk about that when we get back to the campsite sweetie. For now how about you give me a hug?" Ford said stretching arms out toward Mabel. Mabel accepted the hug. "Don't you ever worry me like this again. I was afraid something had gotten to you and it's hard to tell what considering it's Gravity Falls." Ford explained still hugging Mabel tight. "I'm sorry grunkle Ford. I won't worry you like this again." Mabel apologized. "Better not or I will never let you out of my sight again." Ford joked. Mabel hugged her brother and apologized to him. "Now, how about we get back to camp so I can start the fire and than we can talk about what made you go all the way out here." Ford said and the kids followed him. Eventually they reached the camp and Ford started the fire. They all sat around it. "Now Mabel, tell us about the animal you saw. It had to have been pretty special to make you run after it." Ford said starting the conversation. "It was pretty special. Never saw it before. It had the body that looked kind of like a lizard's body but a little different. It was green on the body but what made it special was that it had these long bright and colorful feathers sticking out from it's back. I don't know if it makes a noise as I never heard it make one but it's very unique." Mabel explained. "A green body like a Lizard's and long colorful feathers sticking out of it's back." Ford mumbled to himself. "I can't think of any other animals with that description insept the Longisquama but that couldn't have been it." Ford said to the twins. "I'm sorry but what the heck is a Longisquama?" Dipper asked. Both Mabel and Dipper were both puzzled. "A Longisquama was a Dinosaur. At what period is a bit fuzzy right now but it's extinct. No way that could be it." Ford said pondering of any other possible animals but his mind went blank. "Wait! It was a dinosaur? Could it have come from the church?" Dipper asked Mabel. Before Mabel could answer Ford blurted out "What church?". "The abandoned church that's a bit far from here but maybe a mile into the forest from the house." Dipper answered. The church appearing in his mind Ford responded "Okay but what does the church have anything to do with this?" Ford asked. "That church as a hole in the ceiling and the floor and under the floor there is this huge underground area that has mines in it and if you follow the directions right it will lead to the large area that has Dinosaurs and odd plants trapped in tree sap but last summer we noticed that the tree sap was melting because of the heat. I just thought that the dinosaur could've come from there." Dipper explained. "I had no idea that dinosaurs were still alive in tree sap under that church. You are going to have to bring me there sometime but why were you there?" Ford questioned. "It's a long story but we should save it for when grunkle Stan is around as he's the reason we gone to it." Mabel said with a bit of anger in her voice. "Mabel,do you still hold a grudge against grunkle Stan for that?" Dipper asked noticing the anger. "Not really but I guess I haven't fully forgiven grunkle Stan for it yet." Mabel confessed. "Mabel look, I don't know what the grudge is about excactly but don't hold them. I held a grudge against Stanley for many years but I just think about the present. If I got to go to that college I would have never met you two. You two are delightful kids and I love you both so much." Ford said trying to give advice to Mabel. "Even though we misbehave a lot?" Mabel asked. "Mabel, You and your brother aren't bad kids. Every kid gets in trouble, some more than others but you are in no way a bad kid. Sure you got suspended from School before but there are plenty of kids who got expelled from school. You never done that I know you won't. Yes you two get in trouble a lot but you two are young teenagers and are going through a tough time so of course you two may act out but that isn't important. What's important is that you two have been corrected for your mistakes. Stanley and I don't see you two as bad kids. You're just troubled. Please don't tell me that you've been thinking your a bad kid." Ford said feeling concerned. "She has been thinking that. I had this conversation with her several times. To be honest sometimes I wonder if we're both bad kids." Dipper answered. "Dipper. Mabel. You two aren't bad kids. You just having a lot of problems in your life. It seems like Stanley and I need to have a talk with both of you about it. I don't want you two putting yourselves down like that and I know Stan doesn't want that either." Ford said. It was silent for a few minutes. "Now I think it's time for us to get to bed. We have a lot to do tomorrow." Ford said breaking the silence. The kids got up and gone to the tent. "And Mabel?" Ford spoke before Mabel got into the tent with Dipper. "yeah?" Mabel responded. "We will deal with your behavior early tomorrow morning. Understand?" Ford asked. "Yes sir." Mabel answered respectfully. Mabel went in to the tent and got into her sleeping bag. Soon Dawn fell upon Gravity Falls and Mabel woke up. She was unsure of what time as it was early in the morning. Mabel still remembered that Ford planned on disciplining her this morning and she wondered how long she had left till she had to go to Ford. Mabel looked at Dipper who was still fast asleep and doesn't seem to be aware of the strip of sunshine near his eyes. Mabel stayed sitting up observing the forest in the early sun through the window of the tent. She was wide awake and she couldn't help but glance over at Ford's tent every few minutes to see if Ford was up. Eventually Ford unzipped his tent and got out. He hadn't noticed Mabel staring at him. She felt the need to hide herself but that would be delaying the inevitable. Ford seemed to be preparing for breakfast. She looked at her sleeping brother and felt comfort from him. She stepped out of the tent salvaging any moment where her butt was fine. Ford looked up at Mable. "Good morning sweetheart. How did you sleep?" Ford asked sweetly sensing the anxiety coming from Mabel. "I slept alright." She answered. Ford smiled. Ford sat on the a log near where the campfire was and patted the area next to him telling Mabel to sit next to him. Mabel nervously walked over and sat next to him. She didn't look at him. Instead she looked at the pile of ash left by last night's fire. "Sweetie come on, don't be like that. You don't need to be nervous." Ford said in a soft voice putting his hand against her upper back. "I'm afraid I will get a spanking." Mabel admitted and cuddled up against Ford. Ford embraced her for a moment. "I know you are. Every kid is. You can bet that I was afraid of being spanked when I got in trouble as a kid." Ford said. "You got spankings as a kid?" Mabel asked. "Yes I did. Both Stanley and I did but we got it way worse then what you and your brother get. My father used the belt on our bare butts. That's why Stanley and I decided as kids to spank each other so we would still be punished but without our father finding out but that didn't stop our dad from finding out about some things. We only use our hand if we spank you two bare." Ford explained. "I guess our spankings aren't as bad compared to yours." Mabel said, her head still laying against Ford. "That's what we keep trying to tell you two. You two get it easier than what Stanley and I did." Ford explained. Mabel stayed silent as she didn't know how to respond to that. When Ford noticed that Mabel wasn't going to say anything he moved on to discipline. "Mabel? Can you tell me what you did wrong? You aren't trouble for running after that dinosaur but what do you think you're in trouble for?" Ford asked. "I'm in trouble for leaving our camp when you said not to?" Mabel said in more of a question form. "Yes. That's why you're in trouble. You disobeyed me and you ended up making both your brother and I worried sick. You poor brother pretty much broke down in tears while we were searching for you and I had to calm him down. He was afraid of losing another family member. When you did that you broke my trust and you upset your brother." Ford explained trying to get Mabel to see the full picture of the consequences of her actions. "I'm sorry grunkle Ford." Mabel apologized. "I accept your apology. Now I know I threatened to use a switch if one of you misbehaved on this trip but I think that's a bit extreme to do for this mistake. Instead, I am just going to bare your bottom and use my hand." Ford explained. "Grunkle Ford, I never had my bottom bared for a spanking." Mabel said. "Your parents never bared your bum for a spanking?" Ford asked. "Well they threatened to but they never had to do it." Mabel answered. "Mabel I know that makes you nervous but it's just with my hand. That's all Stan and I would use on your and your brother's bare bum. It isn't gonna be as bad as you think it's going to be. Your brother got a bare bottom spanking from Stan when he was snooping in the presents." Ford said. "I know he did grunkle Ford but that was him not me." Mabel whined. "I know but you take the punishments your given just like your brother does. He deserved a bare bottom spanking and he took it so I expect you to take it as well. Besides, there is always a first time for everything. Even the painful ones.." Ford explained. "Yeah I guess your right." Mabel agreed. Ford kneeled on a knee and had the other up. He patted the knee that was in the air and said "Come here Mabel lets get this over with. I'm sure you wouldn't want your brother to see you get disciplined." Mabel shook her head and gone to Ford. "Are you going to bare your bum on you own or do I need to yank down your pants for you?" Ford asked in a stern tone. Mabel hooked her thumbs on her pants and pulled them down. She bent over Ford's knee with her bottom bared. "It's okay sweetie. It won't last long if you cooperate." Ford said sweetly. "I will cooperate grunkle Ford. I promise." with Mabel saying that Ford patted her lower back which told Mabel that he was about to start. Mabel braced herself for the first swat which came down a few seconds later. Mable just let out a grunt. The next smack hit just a few seconds after the first one. Ford continued to spank Mabel one after the other that Mable didn't have time to respond. Mable just decided to cry more out of frustration than pain. Even though the spanking was painful Mabel was more affected by the frustration of not being able respond and not having the choice to do anything about it. At 20 swats Ford decided that it was enough and lifted up his great niece from his knee. "I'm sorry I ran off from the campsite. I'm really sorry." Mable apologized while crying. "It's okay honey. Your forgiven. I hated having to do that but it's over. Now how about you pull your pants up and wake your brother up. You can apologize to him if you want to. I'm about to make our breakfast. "Okay. Are you going to tell grunkle Stan about what I did?" Mabel asked. "Lets just keep that a secret from Stanley. I'm pretty sure Stan would beat my butt for leaving you two alone and you end up getting lost." Ford said. Mabel giggled and agreed. She ran over to the tent and woke her brother up. "Hey Dipper I want to say that I'm sorry for worrying you. I didn't know that you cried because I ran off. I will be here with you. You don't have to worry about losing another family member. I'm sorry." Mabel apologized after Dipper was fully awake. Dipper hugged his sister. "It's okay sister. I'm not mad. I'm just glad you're alright. Just don't worry me like that again." Dipper said sternly. "I won't Dipper. I promise." Mabel said. "Pinky promise?" Dipper said holding his hand out. "Pinky promise." Mabel responded and hooked her pinky around Dipper's. "We better get out of here. Grunkle Ford is making breakfast." Mabel informed. Dipper smiled and followed Mabel out of the tent and joined Ford by the fire for breakfast.
