Lance POV\\First person:

I woke up with a yawn. The warm Arizona sun streaming through my window, casting golden streaks on the floor.

I stood up and stretched, looking through my drawers for a pair of jeans and a shirt. Once I got my 'aesthetic'--blue, cuffed jeans, grey and white shirt, bomber jacket, and my favorite pair of converse--on, I sat back down and rolled up my sleeve.

No response.

I sighed, "What the hell." I mumbled, looking down on the floor. My impatience was raising higher and higher by the minute. I just wanted an answer...I just want Keith to answer. My eyes stung, I blinked hard. I wasn't going to cry right before school. That's pathetic.

I pulled my sleeve back down and slung my backpack over my shoulder. I walked downstairs, smiling at my little brother, Milo, who was watching cartoons on living room. He smiled back and stood up, scrambling over to give me a hug goodbye.

I hugged him back and ruffled his hair. "Bye Milo. I love you, bud!" I crouched down and booped his nose.

"I love you too!" he said brightly, booping me back before giggling and walking back to his cartoons.

I called my farewells out to the entire house before walking out the door.

I looked down at my phone, scrolling through my conversation with Keith last night. I chuckled and sent him a quick good morning message.

I began to scroll through his feed. Mostly pictures of nature. After you scroll through there is some selfies, and a rare meme or two. I liked all his selfies, finding myself saving some of them.

'Imma emo mess.' One of the captions said. He was in all black, a slight hint of eyeliner surrounding his eyes. One hand covering half his face, and his nails carefully panted with black, and a frown forming upon his pink lips, just to add the extra edge. I definitely saved that one.

I shoved my phone back into my pocket, sighing. I chewed on my lip, with thoughts of Keith still filling my mind, and walked to the bus stop.

Keith POV\\First person:

I woke up from a ding on my phone. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I picked up my phone, yawning. It began to ding continuously. I raised my eyebrows and opened my Instagram.

7 new likes. 1 new message.

I opened them. I scowled down at my phone. All the selfies on my page were liked by Lance Fucking McClain. And, oh the surprise! the message was from him too.

Lance McClain
Good morning handsome~ I hope u slept well

Keith Kogane
Good morning Lance. I slept fine, thank you.

I found myself smiling down at my phone. He was a pretty sweet guy...but I couldn't think that anymore. I actually had a soulmate. I needed to find them, but not before they write again...I didn't want to risk any awkward-ness. I tugged on some jeans and threw on a shirt, not caring how I looked.

I slung my backpack over my shoulders and walked downstairs. On my way to the door I ran into Erik.

My face flushed as he glared down at me. "Hello..." I whispered, concentrating on my feet.

"Fag," he growled before pushing past me, almost knocking me to the ground.

My eyes stung, but I forced myself not to cry.  I didn't need to do that right before school, that'll just look like I'm begging for attention. I walked briskly to school forcing that awful word out of my mind.

I walked into school early, everybody hanging out in the lounge. I spotted an empty spot by the vending machine and made a beeline straight towards it.

I sat down as soon as I got there, putting my backpack on the open cushion next to me and glaring territoriality at anyone who dared look in my general direction.

Finally satisfied and thinking that no one was going to sit next to me, I curled up and pulled out a book, flipping to the marked page.

Lance POV//First person:

I walked into the school, searching for Pidge and my other friend, Hunk. They both weren't here, and probably in Mr. Coran's science room, nerding out over some unexciting junk.

And that's when I saw him. He was curled up on the corner of a couch, a book open in his lap. His dark violet eyes focused intently on a page, just as he flipped it. One finger curling around a strand of his mullet absentmindedly, he seemed so consumed in his book, and he stood out from the rest of people. Most people were laughing and talking with their friends, or at least staring at their phones. But he, he was in a different world, completely engrossed in a book.

Before I knew what I was doing, my legs were carrying myself towards him. I moved his backpack to the floor, sat down beside him, and looked over his shoulder, slightly leaning on him. "Whatcha readin' Mullet?" I asked, wanting to lean in more towards his warmth, just wanting to hold him get lost in those beautiful eyes, but I held back.

I had a soulmate now, and what if  it wasn't Keith. My heart shattered a little at the mere thought of it. And I realized that I only wanted Keith.

Keith's POV//First person:

I was at the best part. Draco was escaping with Harry. Riding on Harry's broom. I loved them, fuck I loved them so much. They were perfect for each other, complete opposites, and their relationship was adorable.

I felt a slight weight leaning into me, "Whatcha readin' Mullet?"

I squeaked and slammed my book shut without putting the bookmark in. Dammit, I thought.

I didn't even have to look over to know that it was Lance. I know that mocking tone from anywhere. "Lance, what the hell! Can't a man read in peace!" I huffed, setting my book down beside me.

Lance raised his hands in defense, a cute, devious smirk beginning to form on his lips, "I just asked what you were reading," he chuckled, picking up my book and reading the title. His eyes widened and he began to laugh. "You're one of those Harry Potter geeks, aren't you?!" he exclaimed, looking at me with those perfect, ocean blue eyes.

I tried to snatch my book back, but he brought it out of my reach with ease. "Give it back!" I whined, reaching for it. I was basically climbing on top of him, but I still couldn't reach it.

"Admit it! You ship Drarry too, don't you?!!" he accused, his laugh growing louder.

"D-do not!" I lied, clearing my throat and reaching for my book again.

He laughed even more hysterically before finally handing my book back with a wink. "I bet you cream your briefs every time you hear Draco say, 'Pottah'." He added a fake British accent to 'Pottah', which even I'll admit was hot. Terrible, but hot.

I barely realized I was straddling his hips until he looked down, he face beginning to turn pink. I shot up and snagged my backpack off the floor. My face felt like I dunked it in a pool of lava. I muttered my apologies and looked at the floor.

This was already turning out to be a very interesting day...
