What a tragic situation it was for Rajesh and his family . His income was not sufficient to run the house normally . He wanted to help his father with his pocket money but found it very difficult to manage . He was getting yearly raise in his month but some Diwali bonus , that did not help him to afford extra expenditure .

On Rajesh's request Mohan Lal had sought retirement from his job . He had been awarded his share of provident fund and gratuity on his leaving the job . The whole contribution to him was deposited with the bankers in the form of fixed deposits .

Rajesh was facing very tough time . He had fallen sick . Veena to had health problems . Under the circumstances he had spent every thing for the sake of his family without giving second thought . Rajesh was grateful to him for what he had done for the family .

He was conscious for his duties towards his father but circumstances did not favour him to do any thing for his father . He wanted to share a small portion of his income for the father . But rising cost of living did not oblige him to help his father . Veena was very simple and never demanded for her own sake . Despite best efforts and economic attitude there was no scope to save any thing .

Rajesh was in hand to mouth situation .

Vedna hailed from a middle class family and understood what was the meaning of poverty . She was very efficient to run the house without much income . She adjusted every thing as per the availability of funds. Despite this it was very difficult to lead normal life with all needs met with .
