My footfalls were unnaturally loud as I trudged toward his office. I paused as I neared the door, Why was I listening to him so much? I could just run and he wouldn't know. I pivoted on my foot and began to run down the hall when I heard a loud sigh from Vlad.
"Come back liebling." I cursed under my breath and began to walk faster. Maybe if I ran fast enough he would just leave me be. Suddenly, speakers blared around me. "Don't even try. Just come quietly and I won't have to call ze guards." He sounded tired. I little piece of me felt bad for him, but I just ignored him and started jogging. Alarms and lights blared around me the further I got. Before long the main door from Vlad's facilities came into view. A smile crept in my face as I sprinted. I was right in front of the door when it flew open and hit me in the face, sending me flying back.
"WHAT THE-" I looked up to see the barrel of a gun staring back at me.I drew back a bit as guards filed around the room, each with a gun ready to fire at me. I gasped a bit and backed up, right into Vlad. He grabbed my shoulders.
"I warned you didn't I?" He whispered, his hot breath fanned across my ear. I tensed up and tried to wiggle out of his grip, but he held strong.
"L-let me go!" I strained against him. He sighed and kicked the back of my knee, making fall with a thud. I grunted and glared up at him. He shook his head and looked at the guards.
"Thank you. You are dismissed" he nodded to one of them. The guard rolled his eyes and lowered the gun.
"Keep her in check, I don't want to have to kill another one" He rolled his eyes once more before walking out, taking his squad with him. I gasped softly and drew back. What did he mean kill another one?! Before I could finish my thought, Vlad yanked me up by my arm. I tried to look threatening, but it's difficult with him towering over me and looking ready to kill. I gulped and stepped back a bit.
"I-I'm Sorry-" His hand flew across my face, making my cheek sting. I stumbled back a few steps before leaning on the wall behind me. I was shocked, this bitch just slapped me! He sighed and looked down at me.
"I must zay, I expected better behavior after our incident earlier..." he took a step closer to me. Panic shot through my veins as I scrambled to get up. He was much to close to me. "Did I not zay that it could be easier if you cooperated?" Anger seeped into his usually calm voice. He sighed and shook his head as he cornered me. "I don't azk for much. Just your complete and unconditional cooperation." He pauses for a moment" I've been nice to you," his hand glided over my jaw and he grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up at him. Shivers flowed up my spine. "And zis is how you thank me?" His grip tightened, making me whimper. I tried to put on a tough face, but I could feel my defense crumble. It was obvious he was mad at me, and I don't want to pay the price.
"I-I'm sorry" My voice was so quiet, I almost didn't believe it came from me. He smiled a bit and let go of me.
"Zats what I like to hear." He clapped a hand on my shoulder, making my knees buckle. "I don't vant you to end up like ze others" I nodded profusely and looked at my feet, hoping I could get the point across. He smiled. "Krista, I'm dead serious"
