Epilogue 4 - A Baby (1)

　　After six months of marriage, Xia Wei found herself pregnant. Jiang Zhi Zhou had been daydreaming about a little baby for a long time, and now that there really was one coming, he was elated. "If the due date is in June, she'll probably be a Cancer like me! What do we want to name her?"

　　Xia Wei interjected, "Wait, what if it's a son?"

　　Jiang Zhi Zhou insisted on the baby being a daughter. "Don't you want a cute little daughter like Man Man?"

　　"Of course I do, but I'm not exactly allowed to choose these things."

　　"My hunch says that it's a daughter."

　　Xia Wei: "..."

　　Do you possibly have any hunches about the next winning lottery jackpot number?

　　Xia Wei's pregnancy was a big event for the family. Both sets of parents ran over just to see her. Xia Wei's mother was still worried that Jiang Zhi Zhou wouldn't take good enough care of her and wanted to bring her home, so he had to spend a good deal of effort showing that he was indeed reliable enough to take care of Xia Wei.

　　Jiang Zhi Zhou's parents certainly didn't drop by any less, and on one day, they brought Jiang Man Man along. Jiang Zhi Zhou had Jiang Man Man and Xia Wei play together for a while, telling her, "If you stay with Man Man, you might be infected and give birth to a daughter just like her."

　　Xia Wei: "..."

　　Which country's fortune-telling did this belong to?! She had never heard of it before.

　　Jiang Man Man said cheerfully, "Little aunt, after you give birth, Man Man will play with her. Man Man will dress her up in a small dress and braid her hair."

　　Xia Wei looked over. "Man Man, can you braid hair?"

　　"Yes!" Jiang Man Man nodded eagerly. "Do you want a braid, little aunt? Man Man will help you!"

　　Jiang Man Man started to play with Xia Wei's hair. Xia Wei sat unmoving on the sofa. Jiang Zhi Zhou's mother sat across from them, and warned earnestly for the umpteenth time, "For the first three months, remember to keep your mouth clean. Spices musn't be touched."

　　Jiang Zhi Zhou told her, "Rest assured, I'm in charge of the diet in this family."

　　Mother Jiang growled, "I don't feel relieved at all hearing that you're in charge! It's hard to stick to this diet. It might be fine for awhile, but after that your wife will beg you for some taboo food, and you'll spoil her."

　　"..." Jiang Zhi Zhou was silent for a moment, then reassured, "No, Mom, you don't have to worry at all."

　　Jiang Man Man, who was braiding Xia Wei's hair, giggled, "Has Third Grandma done this before?"

　　"..." Ahahahahahahaha, Xia Wei laughed in her heart. Well done, Man Man!

　　Mother Jiang's expression changed, and she stared at Man Man. "Man Man, child, you're really quite talented."

　　Jiang Man Man giggled again. "When Man Man was sick, the doctor wouldn't let Man Man to eat yummy things, so Man Man snuggled up to Daddy, and Daddy secretly let Man Man have some."

　　Xia Wei blinked. So this was a good move. She wrote it down.

　　Mother Jiang looked at Sunshine and Tangerine in the living room. "Why don't you let us take care of the pets temporarily? It's not convenient for Xia Wei to look after them now that she's pregnant, and I've heard dogs increase the chances of miscarriage."
