C H A P T E R   S I X

•Luke•

This is driving me a little crazy now.

I think Addison has been trying to avoid me lately and it's kinda driving me nuts, but for what reason, I have no idea.

It's just that we were getting along well, so what the hell did I do wrong? It still doesn't add up. It's been, like, three days now.

"Dude, are you sure you don't want to try out for the team? We could use an extra player." Chase asks me as I stand to leave the classroom for lunch.

"Thanks, but I don't think I will."

"Alright, but if you change your mind, try outs are gonna be tomorrow at five." I nod and leave the room.

I walk down the hallway and see Addie closing her locker. She sees me and her eyes widen. She turns towards the opposite direction and scurries down the hall.

"Wait, Ad!" I run after her and grab her wrist, forcing her to turn to me. She winces probably because I gripped her wrist really tight. "Shit, sorry" I loosen my grip on her wrist.

"Um it's ok. Uh.. H-hey Luke," she smiles but I can see that it's forced.

"Hey," I say, frowning. "Why have you been avoiding me?"

She shakes her head. "I haven't! I just- just leave me alone. Please." she says And I raise an eyebrow.

"What the? What, why?" I ask.

"Just do it please." she practically begs. She puts her tiny hands on my chest, trying to push me away, but I don't move a single inch.

"Adten..." her eyes soften and a small smile appears on her lips.

"I told you to stop calling me that, Robert."

"Never." I chuckle and shake my head. "So are you going to tell me why you've been avoiding me?"

She sighs and nods slightly. "But Luke.."

"Shhh it's okay." I tuck a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. "You can tell me."

She smiles and takes a deep breath before opening her mouth again. I don't want her to be avoiding me. I need her to be okay.

After explaining everything to Luke, he clenches his fists at his sides. "What the hell? Who does that little piece of.. of crap does she think she is?" he says angrily. "I swear, i'm going to-"

I shake my head frantically. "No, luke. Really, it's fine." Just as much. I want to get Cassandra punched, I wouldn't want to get Luke into trouble. Plus, i don't think he would do something like that especially to a girl."I don't want you to get into trouble."

His eyes soften and he sighs. "It's just that- how can she say something like that to you? Especially considering you're a million times better and prettier that she is." his eyes widen realizing what he said and I feel my cheeks heating up too.

"I mean that- she's so... Uh plastic and.." she awkwardly runs his hand through his blonde hair and scratches the back of his neck.

"Um.. Yeah. Thanks, I guess." I mumble with red cheeks.

"Just.. Don't listen to whatever she said. None of that is true ok?" he smiles. I feel myself smiling at him.

"There's that gorgeous smile I like." he says and I laugh lightly.

"Thanks lukey. And sorry for avoiding you and all that shiz."

"Aww so cute Addie!" he chuckles and I roll my eyes and continue.

"It's just that I didn't want to know what she meant by 'you'll regret it'. Sounded a tad bit creepy, especially coming from her."

He shakes his head. "It's fine Ad. Don't let it get to you ok" he says and I nod.

He puts his arm around my shoulders as we head to the classroom and I don't shove it off like I usually would have.

I don't usually swear but Luke swears anyways so I had toooo now,
GIVE ME IDEAS FOR SHIP NAMES BC I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO CALL THEM AHAHAH (laddison, addike, whaaat? Haha) they're not dating but i want a ship name anyways xD

Meh I made a schedule for updating hahaha
