Part 16

the next morning, when Steve was walking down, thinking he could get some breakfast and headed to the main quarter, upon arriving, Steve saw Bucky and Natasha were cooking

he never saw Natasha cook, he was her friend for almost like 5 years and he never saw her cooking. Natasha once said she was never an amazing cooker and she said she might be need someone to teach her

his mind telling him, that she had asked Bucky to teach her how to cook. Of course she would ask Bucky, because he didn't know a damn thing about cooking, he only could make pancakes, at least

and Natasha seemed relax and smiling all the time, he tried to see what they were making, and it turned out they were making pancakes

his heart clenched, why Natasha didn't ask him to teach her?!, he would've taught her, and from his enhanced hearing, he could hear Natasha said if Bucky could toast some bacons

God, they both already seemed like a couple, perfect even. Steve wanted to yell at his best friend to stop this, because his heart said Natasha was already taken, by him

"good morning, Steve"

Steve quickly took a grip and  looked at Sam, "good morning, Sam"

"what are you doing? standing in an empty hallway?, woah, look at that, ain't that a cute couple"

"yeah, yeah they are"

Steve's heart clenched yet again

"i bet they both will make cute kids"

"shit, stop right there, Sam"

Steve just shrugged and Sam just laughed and said good morning to both Nat and Bucky

Steve took a deep breath and headed toward them and sat on one of the chairs in the kitchen island

" can i have one?"

Steve said as he tried to restrain himself from the undeniable jealousy

" oh, hey, Stevie, we're making your legendary pancakes"

" wait, what do you mean his legendary pancakes?"

" well, it's because he's the who teaches me how to make a delicious pancake"

" so you're telling me, Steve cooks? wow never had that thought"

" well you'll know if you had asked"

that words came out from his mouth before he even thought about it, it was sure as hell pissed her off

as he prepared himself from Natasha's scold, but it turned out that Natasha was only shrugged her shoulders

that day was going wierder than he thought

Bucky put a plate infront of him and then put some bacons on it, and after that Natasha put a new baked pancake

but suddenly, her thumb went a little higher and that alone made her thumb burned, she cursed in russian and nearly threw the pan

Steve immediately stoop up and grabbed the nearest medicine box, but as always he was too late

There he saw it, Bucky stood beside her and they were very close to each other, the worry on Bucky's face and how he examined her thumb very carefully and at the same time try not to hurt her

damn, you Steve, how could you be late yet again?!

everyone put their heads up and asked how her finger was

" yeah, it's okay, it's just a little burned"
she said as she put her thumb into her mouth

" hey, don't do that, the bacteria will get into your mouth"
Bucky quickly pulled her hand out of her mouth

Steve was shocked, never he had seen someone just touched Black Widow without her permission, and she didn't even kick that someone

" Steve, would you come here really quick with that box in your hands?"

he quickly shook his head and gave Bucky the box, and now he stood between them, and he didn't know what to do

god, this is really awkward, i'm just a mosquito between them

but deep in his heart, he knew, he wished that was him instead of Bucky, his heart clenched so hard that he even gripped his hands

" i can't believe it, i can kill 20 men in a minute, but i can't cook"

her words made him realized he had blank out yet again and of course he said things that were really out of his control and he would very regret it soon

" this would've never happened, if i was the one who taught you"

stupid. stupid. just shut your damn mouth Steve

" what did you say?"

thank god, Natasha didn't hear it, it would make him in a very awkward place even more

" no, it's just, you have to be careful next time"

and with that, Natasha just raised her eyebrow

thank god, she didn't hear it, you better watch your tounge Steve!!

the only thing he didn't know, it was that, Bucky heard it, because Bucky had stopped bandaging Natasha's burned thumb

well, it turns out, i'm not smooth as i thought

Steve slowly walked away from those two, and back to his seat

he ate his pancakes quietly, and just stared at them, god, he would do anything to be in Bucky's place

Natasha felt it, the stare he did, both Bucky and Natasha looked at each other

he didn't know what made those pancakes delicious, he ate them within in a seconds
and he pretty sure, that had nothing to do with Natasha was the one who made it,
pretty sure

Steve let out a sigh as he stood up and took his plate and put it to the dishwasher that exactly located behind them too

after that, he left the room and went straight to where all the files located, hopefully he would find some files he could probably solve

it would be ridiculous if someone didn't notice what had happened, as soon as Steve left the room, everyone was dumbfounded. Despite that, the only person who would know what had happened with Steve was Wanda

and of course Natasha noticed that, it would be impossible to Black Widow didn't notice everything

after Natasha looked to Wanda as if she wanted an explanation, she looked at Bucky

Bucky did get what she meant, so she said to him,

" i'll go talk to him, it's clearly there's something wrong with him"

" no, it's me, i should be the one who probably talk to him"

when Natasha was about to argue more, she was cut off by Sam

" you know what you two, i'll go talk to him"

and Sam just went out, didn't mind the people that just stared at him

" everthing's okay?"

Sam said when he found Steve with files surrounded him

Steve startled, he didn't notice someone had walked behind his back

" yea, of course, is everything okay?"

Sam chuckled, of course, Captain America always put everyone's need first

" no, everyone is not okay, because their Captain decided to act strangely in these last few days"

Steve was stunned, he didn't see that coming from someone like Sam

did he really act that weird?
