24; happy birthday, by the way

Dylan and I pulled up to Ryan's house who's driveway was already filled up with cars. Knowing Ryan, he probably invited the whole school to this birthday party. The thought of him throwing a birthday party for Kate made me slightly jealous.

Dylan puts the car in park and smiles at me before turning off the engine, "Ready?" he asks me.

I nodded and unhooked my seat belt.

Dylan rushes out of the car and jogs towards the passenger door, opening it for me.

I laughed at his cuteness, "You know I can open my own doors right?"

I rolled my eyes as he helps me out.

My leg still hurt from the accident, but I didn't want to bring crutches to a party; then everyone would ask me what happened and it's too long of a story to tell. I'd rather limp around than to just have two huge sticks walking around with me.

Dylan wraps his arm around my waist, walking by my side in case I needed help.

I grinned as I smelled his cologne.

"You smell good," I giggled.

Dylan chuckles at my statement and brought his hand up to my shoulder, squeezing it before planting a kiss on my cheek.

As we approached his front door, these two men dressed in an all black business attire opened the door for us.

There was so many people flooding the area.

Three pool tables, two beer pong tables, a bunch of people hanging out in the backyard, swimming, drinking, and dancing. My eyes widened. It was more people than at our school, this kid invited the whole city.

"Holy shit," Dylan whispers underneath his breath, looking around at the place. No one looked familiar to us except for the group of baseball team hanging out near the beer pong table. I nudged Dylan's arm and pointed towards the group of boys.

Dylan grabs my hand and we both walked up to them.

"Dylan!" a brunette boy with curly hair greets,

"What's up Juniper," he grins at me, holding a fist out for my to bump.

I smiled and bumped his fist before looking at Dylan.

"How long have you guys been here?" Dylan asks, starting up a conversation.

The only people on the baseball team that I knew of was Ryan, Jacob and Caleb, now Dylan. I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly as I looked around, knowing for a fact that Leah should be here somewhere.

"Hey man, take a shot with us," I heard one of the boys suggesting to Dylan.

I turned my attention back to Dylan, he shook his head, "No, I can't."

"Why?" the curly haired boy asked, "Is it because of Juniper?"

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. I never told him he couldn't drink, I just preferred him not to. I pucker my lips and crossed my arms.

"No," Dylan defends me, "I just don't want to."

"Come on dude, don't be a pussy," the blonde boy nudges Dylan.

Hearing those words made my blood boil.

Dylan looks over at me with a slightly uncomfortable expression. I observed the guys who were staring dead straight at Dylan.

"Aye," he tries to defend himself, "I'm just not-"

I interrupted Dylan but bumping his shoulder out of the way.
