Living in Russia wasn't fun for the twins. It was always cold and people treated them different when they went out in public. Their caregiver had taught them English first and Russian second.

Lada had a tanner complexion thank her brother. Her hair was also a darker brown, like their father. Nickoli took completely after their mother. He had reddish brown hair, green eyes and pale skin.

Another thing he took after was that he didn't have the Hulk DNA. Lada, however, wasn't as lucky. The green disease ran through her veins. Every time she got angry or scared the green beast broke its way through.

Nickoli had learned how to calm his sister down. When she would get angry, he would sing her favourite song, Sunshine. When she was scared, he would talk to her in a very calming voice. He was always there for her.

Lada loved her brother, she couldn't imagine a life without him. They were inseparable since birth. According to their caregiver, they never wanted to be apart even to the point of sharing the same bed. They slowly grew out of the phase though, but they still shared a bedroom.

Some nights, when it was pouring rain outside and the wind was slamming up against the window, Lada would crawl into bed with her brother. She always felt safe with him by her side. Thunderstorms always scared Lada, because they were loud and it made the world ten times darker.

"Did the storm scare you Lada?" Nickoli asked as he felt his sister crawl into bed with him. "Yes, it's so dark out." She answered, pulling the thin covers up. "You're safe here, just close your eyes and let sleep take you." He replied in a soothing voice.

Lada closed her eyes and when they opened again the sun was shining brightly in their room. Lada sat up and looked around, Nickoli wasn't anywhere to be found. "Nik?" She called up, getting out of his bed.

"In the kitchen!" He called back. He was in the kitchen, helping make breakfast for everyone. It was the day of their fourth birthday. "Smells good." Lada said, looking at him. "Thank you." He replied, smiling at her.

They went into the living room, while they waited for their caregiver to bring them food. Five minutes, still she didn't come. Ten, still nothing. "Where is she?" Lada asked, looking at her brother. "I'll go check." He replied, walking into the kitchen. "Ma'am?" Nickoli called out, walking into the kitchen.

She wasn't there, all that stood where she once did was a pile of dust. "Lada!" Nickoli called, rushing back into the living room. "What?" She asked, looking at him, worried. "She's gone." He replied, looking at her.

"Why?" Lada asked, looking up at him. He shrugged. "Lets call." She said, walking over towards the phone. "Who?" He asked, looking at her. "Politsiya" She replied. She picked up the phone and started dialing.

It rang until someone answered. "Politsiya, what's your emergency?" A voice asked. "Hello, we need help." Lada replied, looking at her brother. "What's your address, I'll send a vehicle." They replied.

"We don't know." She replied. "Where are your parents?" "Gone." "Lada, give me the phone." Nickoli said, walking over to her. "Hello, this is Nickoli Banner, we live right out of the town Volgograd." He said. "I'm sending someone now." They said, hanging up.

"It's okay Lada." Nickoli said, hugging his sister. "Why would she leave?" Lada asked, getting upset. "Shh, it's okay." He said, leading her towards the couch. A few hours later, there was a loud knock on the door. Nickoli answered it.

"You made the call?" The officer asked. "Yes sir, our madame disappeared." He answered. "Where are your parents?" He asked. "We don't have any, our mat gave us up." He answered. "How old are you two?" the officer asked. "Four, today." Lada spoke up.

"Alright, lets get you someplace safe." The officer said, leading  them outside. They got into his car and they drove away from their home. It was a long drive before they arrived at the police station. "Come, we'll get you some hot chocolate and food." The officer said, opening the back door.

They stayed in a private room towards the back of the station. The officer gave them hot chocolate and some bread as promised. "What if they separate us?" Lada asked, looking at her brother. "They won't." He answered, smiling at her. "I hope they don't." She sighed, looking at her feet.
