Five year time jump

Five years has passed since the blimp had happened. The twins had stayed with the officer and his family after he had taken them to the station. For five years they were treated like normal children, they went to school and had friends.

Then one day, their caregiver had shown up at the front door. He had given them back over to her. They still went to school, but they didn't see their friends anymore. She had sent Lada to the same school her mother went to.

She didn't much like it, especially since Nickoli wasn't with her. During breaks, when she was allowed to return home, her and Nickoli would hide away in their secret hideout and spend time together until she had to return.

Nickoli had been sent to a privet school for boys. He missed Lada while she was there. They had no form of communication, which made them more lonely. When they asked their caregiver why they were being separated, she had said it was what their mother had instructed.

Lada refused to believe their mother would wish that upon them. Nickoli disagreed, stating that she didn't care about them because otherwise she wouldn't have given them up. It was the first time they had disagreed on something.

At Lada's school, they called it the Red Room for some reason, she was forced to train as a spy. She learned different languages as well as how to handle weaponry. By her third year there, she had learned French, Latin, Mandarin, Spanish, German, Italian and more Russian. Making it a total of eight languages she knew fluently.

She wasn't very good at Martial Arts or shooting. Her teacher said she wasn't as good as her mother had been, which meant she would be stuck in school for more years.

Nickoli wasn't doing good in school either. Science and Math were his weakest subjects. He was amazing in his language classes and his dance class. He took three different language classes; French, Spanish and Russian. They all came easy to him.

During breaks, Lada would do all his Science and Math homework for him. It was the only time he ever passed his homework. In return for doing his homework, Nickoli would help her learn Martial Arts and weaponry. He said Dance and Martial Arts were almost the same thing.

Their caregiver always noticed this. She never stopped them from helping each other. It reminded her of now close her and Natasha once were. How they used to help each other. Up until the blimp her and Natasha had talked every month.

Natasha would call late in the evening and ask about the twins. She missed them terribly. When told to come visit, Natasha always refused, always using the same excuse- "they'll understand when they're older."

Now, Natasha hasn't even bothered to call. It had been five years, but that wouldn't have stopped her. If she had thought they'd been blimped, she would've come down to check for herself. And she definitely would've come down when they came back, or at least called.

That's how she knew something was wrong with her sister. Rosealina picked up the phone and dialed her sisters number. "Hello?" A male answered. "Uhm, I'm looking for Natasha." She said, confused. "Natasha died, who is this?" The man replied. "Sorry, wrong number." She replied, hanging up.

She decided not to tell the twins, more than likely they'd never ask questions about their parents. Their hadn't asked since their third birthday anyways. She sighed as she went into the kitchen to work on dinner.

"Lada, do you this madame is mad at us?" Nickoli found himself asking. "No, why do you ask?" She replied. "Because, she's separated us from one another." He shrugged. "She's sending us to schools that will help us learn." Lada argued.

"Yeah, but there's plenty of privet schools that are both boy and girl." He said. Lada paused before answering. Trying to process her brothers argument. "Maybe our mother wanted us to go to these schools." She suggested.

"Our mother doesn't get a say in our life." He huffed. Maybe it's because she couldn't keep us, we don't know the whole story." Lada reasoned. "I just wish Madame would tell us more." He sighed. "Well, we never really ask questions, maybe that's what we have to do." Lada pointed out.

"Yeah, I think we should." He nodded, looking at her. "Dinner!" Rosealina called seconds after Nickoli made his comment. The twins made their way to the dining table. "Looks amazing." Lada said, sitting down.

"I made your favourite." Rosealina smiled, also sitting down. "Madame, we were talking and well we're curious about our parents." Nickoli said, looking at her. Rosealina almost choked on her drink. "It's just that, you never talk about them, other than their names and careers." Lada continued.

"What brought all this on?" Rosealina asked. "We're just curious is all." Lada answered. "Your mother, Natasha, was an amazing spy and she loved you both dearly." Rosealina sighed. "And what of our father?" Nickoli asked.

"I don't know much about Bruce, other than the fact the he got lost somewhere during a war before your mother found out she was pregnant." She answered.

Nickoli shared a look with his sister. "Nickoli, you take after your mother entirely; her red hair and greenish blue eyes. Lada, you must  look like your father, the only similarities you have to your mother is your face shape." Rosealina said out of nowhere. The twins looked down at their plates, not wanting to speak.
