A word of encouragement from a teacher to a child can change a life. A word of encouragement from a spouse can save a marriage. A word of encouragement from a leader can inspire a person to reach her potential.

When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.

Taking an interest in what others are thinking and doing is often a much more powerful form of encouragement than praise.

Encouragement to others is something everyone can give. Somebody needs what you have to give.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

Big jobs usually go to the men who prove their ability to outgrow small ones.

The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.

If everyone received the encouragement they need to grow, the genius in most everyone would blossom and the world would produce abundance beyond our wildest dreams.

It's not whether you get knocked down. It's whether you get up again.

Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.

Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.

Go for the moon. If you don't get it, you'll still be heading for a star.

Correction does much, but encouragement does more.

Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.
Put yourself in a state of mind where you say to yourself, Here is an opportunity for me to celebrate like never before, my own power, my own ability to get myself to do whatever is necessary.

If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.

It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.

There is nothing better than the encouragement of a good friend.

Fall seven times, stand up eight.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
