"Ashley, what the hell are you doin here?"
Melo didn't hold back asking her in a cold tone. I looked up to him as he glared over toward her way. I didn't feel that comfortable either, that was Melo's ex after all.
Once Ashley entered the elevator fully she finally spoke, "I honestly didn't know you guys would be here I just came here with my family." She lifted her hands in defense but then reached over to press the fifth floor. I just sent a light nod her way, not really caring if she was telling the truth or not.
"Man I swear you be following me or something. Don't you got a life?" Melo spits, letting out a grunt and shaking his head. Ashley had a tinge of hurt on her face but looked away, trying to hide it.
Could this elevator go any faster?
After searching for Melo's hand, I grabbed it and held it. He looked down at me, his expression dull and faintly annoyed.
'It's okay.' I mouthed and gave him a reassuring smile. The air filled with silence and it was awkward as shit. Ashley looked up at the ceiling, attempting to make it less painful than it already was.
Finally, the elevator opened and there was the fifth floor for Ashley. At first, she stood there looking at me as if she had something to say but couldn't get it out.
"Was there something you wanted to tell me?" I asked her.
She just nodded her head quickly, nervously twirling the ends of her hair.
I could hear Melo groan from beside me. He was such a baby. I nudge his arm with my shoulder.
"I'll meet you up at the room, okay?"
I exited the elevator with Ashley and we watched the doors close on a pitiful Melo. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh because he would be such a cutie for reason.
From the corner of my eye I could see Ashley smiling at me and shaking her head.
"What?" I ask her seriously.
"Oh, nothing it's just that your good for him. He's changed because of you." She explained to me sincerely.
I looked down at my shoes and couldn't help but let a grin take over my face. I didn't realize how big of an impact I had on him, but I now I guess I might have minor insight on it.
"Well thank you.. was there something else you wanted?" I asked once again.
Even though Ashley was being oodly kind right now, I hadn't forgotten what she did to me before.. the cold looks at school, making a scene after that basketball game, and let's not forget the hateful comments she left on my social media pages.
"Yeah. I wanted to apologize for the way I acted towards you, when I had found out about you coming to our school I searched you up online and instantly got jealous. I have nothing on you. I mean your pretty as hell and you seem like such a sweet girl so when you came to Chino, I honestly felt threatened. My first instinct was to put you down because I felt so insecure about myself. Melo and I weren't even together when you came to Chino but I was stupid enough to let him fuck even after we broke up." I cringed at the end TMI sis..
"But then I realized that in life shit happens and maybe Melo and I were never meant to be but I sure as hell know you guys are." After Ashley finished confessing her sins to me, a small tear escaped from her eye.
"I just wanted to apologize to you for the way I acted. It was such a bitchy move on my part. I'm not asking to be friends or anything but I just had to let you know."
"Thanks Ashley, I forgive you."
Today I was on some weird shit but I feel as if it was God sending me signs that I should probably pay attention to.
Maybe I just needed to hear a another certain two people out..

"Dip, what do you think I should do?"My head rested on his shirtless chest and I could hear the steady beat of his heart below me. I traced the lines of his chest tat with my fingers waiting for his answer.
After I was finished talking with Ashley, Melo and I ordered Pizza and stayed in and watched Stranger Things season three. It was sum light but it was always fun when you added him to the mix.
But it was now hitting the 2am mark here in Cali and I couldn't go to sleep, and neither could Melo. So here we were, layed up together. The tv was off, our phones on vibrate, but there was the small sound of the rain hitting against the window of the air conditioned hotel room.
"Well, it's probably best if you hear them out like you said. Ion see no problem with that." He rubbed small circles on my back.
"Okay." I nuzzle myself closer to him.
"What should I do as far as the brand and shit? Big baller stay talking about BBB but it was never too interesting to me. I mean yeah making a shoe and a couple of shirts was fun but for now I just wanna focus on basketball and work on my strength."
"Well I think that if he asks you how you feel, let em know," I sit up, "I know it's a lot of stuff going in here," I motion to head, "and I never want you to feel like you have to go through it alone, just like you told me I'm here, I got you."
Melo didn't say anything, only stared at me, "What? I got something in my nose?" I asked.
He shook his head and grinned for a small moment.
"Then what is it?" I was slowly starting to get a little paranoid was it my face? When I left the apartment, I didn't have time to put any makeup on so I understand that I was looking a bit rough.
"You everything I want and more I hope you know that. You my world and if I ever loose you then I don't know what I would do. Shit.." he trails off looking away.
I caress his face with my left hand so he looks back my way. His eyes bore into mine and my heart beat speeds up.
"I swear imma do right by you, shawty." He shook his head.
He lowered his head and then lifted it once again.
"I love you."
