it was a saturday evening when briar was standing in front of her closet, trying to pick an outfit for the party her friends had invited her to. summer had just begun and uni wouldn't start until a bit over a month later. she wasn't one to go out that often, but liam really wanted to go and and all of her friends would be there. pulling out a pair of black skinny jeans and a red top, she decided that it should do great for the night.
while briar was putting her make up on, her doorbell rang and only a few seconds later she heard her mum greeting her boyfriend. they liked each other, he was being nice to her daughter. he was the one who ended up fixing some pieces that myles had broken - which went a long way with your parents. briar never told them why the both of you had stopped being friends, mostly because she herself, still had no idea why it happened.
myles never said another word to briar, but she knew he was living life to the fullest. partying with his brothers, and his best friend - noah zulfikar, and hooking up with different girls every week and failing his exams were the three things he did in his life. myles and briar's parents were still close friends and briar still talking to myles' brothers, but she usually avoided talking to any of them when myles was around. she never went over for family dinners at their place and myles never came over when your parents were hosting the dinners.
it was still painful seeing him even after all this time. her heart still hurt every time she saw him get into his car, play basketball in front of the house and especially when she saw him bring home different girls all the time. she wanted him to wrap his arms around her and tell her it was all just a bad dream. she wanted everything to go back to like it used to be - just the two of you.
"briar! stop it!" myles laughed as you started another tickle fight. the two of them were chilling on the erlick's couch, tyson and kingsley sitting opposite you.
"don't touch me!" briar laughed as myles was now pinning her to the couch, tickling her sides.
"you started this, darling."
"you're so full of shit!" she grinned as she pushed him off her.
"it hurts me to say this, but myles is right, you started this." tyson laughed as he watched them play around like 5 year-olds.
"are you trying to get on my bad side?" briar shot tyson a look that made him raise his hands in defense.
"stop threatening my hrother! you scared him, look, now he's running away from you." myles laughed as he threw himself back on top of briar, pulling her closer and resting his face in the crook of his neck.
"get off me!" she laughed as his breath ticklet the soft skin in her neck.
"you're too comfy. and you smell like flowers and cookies."
"cookies?" briar couldn't help herself from bursting out laughing,
"just fucking date already, you're both annoying as fuck." tyson shook his head as he got up and walked towards the kitchen, leaving the two of them behind with a light blush on both of your faces.
