"You forgot me, didn't you?"
"I did."Gaze up at the ceiling, your lovely face in my vision
Fire in my brain, just like the one in your burnt-black eyes
Evolution led to a revolution led to a resolution
You found a sanctuary in my imagination
We can never forget each other. Hopeless."Two years ago, we used to talk so much over the phone. What happened then?"
"Believe me, I don't know myself."The siren goes off again, the dreadful kind of hopelessness
Searching for your face in them, everyone reminds me of you
You cry invisible tears, and I scream silently for forgiveness
Your anxious eyes spoke more than you did, in helplessness
You found out who I was. Hopeless."I hate the word 'thanks'."
"That's why I always say that."The weight on my shoulders put me down on my knees
I try to put you in equal blame of the grief that no one sees
Striving to hold you up when your world stops spinning
We're fingertips away but separated by a million seasYou still know how to have my attention. Hopeless.
"You can come to me if you need help."
"I know..."No matter how much we push our memories away
We'll always find each other at that homely doorway
Torn hearts pause and restart, it's funny how our lives work
Now I know the magic we once had is forever meant to stay
But you'll never come back. I know. Hopeless."Genius."
"Yes, you are."
