Natalie's P.O.V
"Stop!" I yelled at david, playfully pushing him away as he tried to stick a sticky note to my forehead.
"Nat, come on, what else am I supposed to do with this note pad i found," He laughed, coming closer to me and attempting to stick another one.
I laughed along, "Obviously, write notes on it."
"Just let me do what I want to do," Dave chuckled, tangling me between his legs so that I wasn't able to move. After a few attempts of trying to get out of his grip, I just gave up and let him stick a note to my head.
"See, that wasn't so bad," He said, removing his legs from my body, and reaching for a pen.
I glared at him, "Dave, I swear to god if you write David's assistant on my forehead I will..."
"Relax," He smiled, and then grabbed my face to write something on the note on my forehead.
I sighed.
"Perfect!" He exclaimed, backing away from me completely. I reached to grab the note to see what he wrote, and as soon as I removed the note, David's phone rang.
He looked at the screen, and his eyes widened, as if he was surprised.
"Who is it?" I asked. I knew it was none of my business, but the look on David's face filled me with curiosity.
"One second," He waved at me and got up to his room to answer the call.
I was pretty confused, but i mentally shrugged it off. I then took a look at the note in my hands to check what David wrote.
'Dancing queen'
I smiled without even noticing, even my heart smiled and a blush slowly made its way to my cheeks.
Before the blush had the chance to settle, David walked back and sat on the couch across from me.
"Hey, is everything okay?" I asked, after seeing his unsure expression.
He nodded, "It's just, um," His hand made its way to his hair and he ran it through, "Liza called."
"Oh," Was all I managed to get out of my system, I blinked twice before deciding that 'Oh' wasn't enough, so I asked him, "What does she want?"
"She asked if me and her could hang out tonight,"
"I'm honestly so confused, isn't she like always busy and shit?" I questioned. Dave just moved his head to the left, implying that he, too, had no clue of what was going on.
"Well, what did you tell her?" David and I were supposed to go watch a movie tonight, but I don't really think he'd choose that over going out with Liza, whom he hasn't seen for quite a while.
"I said I had plans but she insisted, and you know, I couldn't say no."
I just nodded, a bit disappointed that I won't get to hang out with him tonight. But who was I to complain?
"If you don't want me to go, I won't."
He caught me off guard by his statement, but I managed to reply quickly, "Dave, why on earth wouldn't I want you to go?"
He gave me a soft smile, "We were supposed to go watch a movie tonight," He said, informing me of what I already know.
"Well, the cinema isn't going to shut down anytime soon, so don't worry, we can always do that another time," I joked, even though deep down I was hoping he'd just prioritize me over Liza.
"You're the best, Nat," He fully smiled and came closer to me, hands open for a hug.
I hugged back, Of course. Hugging David has always been therapeutic to me, his hugs just make me feel like I'm back at Vernon Hills, sixteen and free of all the world's drama.
This hug though, lasted a bit more than expected, and if I'm being honest, I didn't mind.
David's P.O.V
It was almost 8 pm, meaning I had to be at Liza's house to pick her up in like 15 minutes.
I was running hella late, and honestly I was okay with that. Postponing seeing Liza was working really well in the favor of my anxiety.
I was extremely nervous, since Liza has never really made time for me ever since we ended things.
"Natalie!" I yelled from my room as I struggled to fix the collar of my shirt.
Barely a few seconds passed before she ran in.
"Is everything okay? Do you need your laptop? Chipotle? The camera?" She stressed, which made me laugh.
"What?" She asked, after calming down and sitting on the side of my bed.
"Nothing," I smiled, "You're just so adorable when you're freaking out."
She looked down, trying to hide the fact that she was blushing, but I saw it clearly.
"But seriously, what do you want?" She questioned, curious about why I'd called her.
I just pointed to my fucked up collar, and she let out a soft laugh.
"Come here," She giggled, getting up and coming close to me. Her soft hands made their way to the collar of my shirt and she attempted to fix it.
As she was doing so, her hands would regularly make contact with my neck, which shouldn't really be a big deal, but made goosebumps flush through me from head to toe.
"Thanks, Nat," I flashed her a smile and got back to getting ready. She made her way to the door, but stopped before walking out.
She slightly turned her head towards my direction, "I know I shouldn't be asking, but where are you guys going?"
Putting down my perfume, I turned away from the mirror to face her too, "It's perfectly okay to be asking me such a question, and we're going to this chinese restaurant," I said.
Natalie just nodded her head with a smile and walked out of my room to hers.
