Skye's Pov-
I began to walk by the stairs when I heard whispering voices coming from down the stairs.
"What are you doing?" I heard someone say behind me. My body tensed up and i put a hand over my mouth to keep from yelling. I turn to see Ashton drying his hair with a towel.
"Nothing.." I responded smoothly. He gave me a look but didn't question it further but began to hear the whispering too. We both listened closly and I made out the voices.
"Promise me?" I heard Ava's voice from down the stairs. Promise what?
"I doubt I'll have to do it....but I promise" I heard Xavier reply silently. What the fuck? I looked at Ashton who was giving me a confused look. Then he whispered to me 'What are they talking about?' I shrugged my shoulders listening if they were talking, but Ashton suddenly walked down the stairs.
"Ayy...what's going on here?" he asked straight forward. He'd be a terrible spy. Xavier didn't move, his face didnt even change expressions, but Ava was the opposite.
"Nothing" she replied a little too strangely. "We were just...making up a handshake..." she said. I couldn't even help myself when I made a face. Why was she lying? Was there something going on with them? It was getting embarrassingly awkward watching Ava struggle like that.
"Are you guys ready to go? Xavier said breaking the uncomfortable vibe.
"Yeah pretty much." Ashton replied and before I knew it we were at the mall, but the movie wouldnt start for a while so we decided to eat and chill for a while as we waited, but before i knew it we had all gone our seperate ways in the mall. I had stuck to Xavier's side the whole time.
Would Xavier and Ava have something going on? What was such a secret they couldn't tell us? They wouldn't, right? They barely talk to each other. There is no way that's true.
I remembered I was at the mall and turned to see Xavier looking forward, I stared wondering what was on his mind.
"Hey why so quiet?" I asked.
"I'm always quiet." he replied bluntly.
"Not this quiet." I replied and he shrugged. I gripped his arm like a little kid would, and i saw a small smirk play on his lips. We contnued like that until it was time to call up the rest to go watch the movie, during the movie Xavier only tried to annoy me and I couldn't pay much attention to the movie when someone is messing with your hair or dropping popcorn on you on purpose. When the movie ended I dust myself off of popcorn and shook some off of my hair, then I looked over at Ava who seemed to be shivering and seemed to have lost her color.
"Are you ok Ava?" She shook her head with her eyes shut.
"I think I'm going ack to the house." she said but it seemed that just responding took a lot of energy out of her. She turned and faced the doors and started heading out on her own. Ashton started putting on his sweater and turned to us.
"I'm going to take her. Meet you guys back at the house." I stared at them disappearing behind the doors.
"She's going to be ok." I heard Xavier say next to me.
"Mmm." I wasn't too sure on that.
"Come on." He said grabbing my wrist, at that moment i felt myself get warm in the face.
"Where are we going?" I said trying to cool my face down.
"Just going to walk around." He replied.
