The journey to town was long because we hit all of the morning traffic, so we talked about Emily's plans for after her college course and what my plans were for travelling.

"We might hit it off in Greece and then head down to Australia, but it really depends on where the first competition is being held."

"So you're going to be hitting all of the expensive places first," Emily states while laughing. The rewards given at the end of archery competitions are great, so I've been saving up for this, but if we win the competitions then it just means more money again. I've also been working for my old archery instructor for the past six months so there's that.

"Well Nancy has worked hard over college to afford this trip, so hit all of the pricey countries first if that's what is happening," My mum tells Emily. I know my mum is proud of me, she never stops showing it.

"Fancy taking me with you?" She questions, "I'm sure I could fit into your suitcase."

I shake my head while chuckling. Emily does make me laugh. As soon as I was about to reply the traffic starts moving again. "Finally," I mutter. I put my car into gear and step on it as soon as I am safe to do so. The conversation ends and we all sit in a comfortable silence while listening to the radio as I drive us to the car park.

Fifteen minutes later

"Congratulations on that five point turn into the parking space," My mum says. I just stare at her annoyed, "Well if you had just let me reverse park then I wouldn't have taken so long. You know I don't like driving into spaces."

My mum and I always bicker over parking. I'm not a fan of driving in because I can never see if I am too close to the car in front! She just laughs at me and starts walking into the town centre. I sigh and lock my car, following them in.

Aside from the bickering, I mentally prepared a list of what I need to pick up while I'm here. Just some general products and a couple pairs of leggings, Emily is usually always nicking mine. We head our way over to Boots and each go our separate way to find our own things. I head straight over to the skincare section and grab lots of random things. Cleansing wipes, shaving gel, lip balm and face scrub. It's buy one get one free on all skincare products so you know, I'm just stocking up.

I walk back down the skincare aisle and turn the corner, only to come face to face with the one and only Harlow. "Haha hey, fancy seeing you here," I say.

She smiles, "I know right, I'm actually in a beauty store."

Harlow Jameson is my best friend. We have known each other since primary school and have been stuck to the hip ever since. Harlow looks like a girly girl, but she really isn't one. She is most definitely a tomboy. Her long blonde hair is so straight and smooth, it almost feels like silk. And her forest green eyes are just captivating.

I on the other hand am the complete opposite, I have long, curly, dark brown hair that frizzes up ridiculously when you brush it. Under my contacts are icy blue eyes with hints of green in them. I dress simple, jeans and a shirt with the odd jacket. I wear very light make up that consists of mascara and very very light foundation.

Harlow wears jeans and a hoody almost twenty four seven. She's co-captain of the U21s women's football team too, and she's pretty damn proud of it. She's not into makeup or anything remotely similar so I think you'll understand me when I say I'm confused as to why she's in a shop like this.

"So what are you doing here? I thought you were away at your dads?" I question. Her parents split up a couple of years ago and her dad moved to Brighton so she visits often.
