Chris was the one who hit Cal, he punched him in the jaw while shouting "fucking murderer". Cal was quick to respond to this by upper cutting Chris in the jaw. The pair then proceeded to get into a full blown punch out, Julia tried to intervene but was pushed away by Cal.
Chris then kicked Cal backwards and punched the man in his bad eye causing Cal to scream in pain. Realisation hit Chris like a tsunami as he backed away in horror. "Shit, sorry m...." He didn't get time to react as Cal tackled him and the pair tumbled down the muddy hill, when they finally came to a stop Cal grabbed Chris's collar and began to repetitively punch Him in the face.
Eventually Julia pulled cal off of Chris, broken from his anger spell Cal stood up and witnessed his rampage. Chris's face was bloodied and bruised from the punches, Julia was holding him in her arms crying while Jesse watched from a distance frightened by the incident.
Cal caught a glimpse of himself in a puddle, he had blood all over his clothes, fists and face from the innocents on the train and from Chris. So he did the only other thing he knew how to do apart from fight, Run.
Jesse watched as Cal took off towards a nearby forest, she followed in pursuit but was losing ground to the athletic man. Eventually she lost them in the woods, the tall trees preventing her from seeing where he went.. Thats when she heard it, "Crying?" she thought as she approached the sound of the noise. running water quickly masked the sound as she got closer, Eventually Jesse reached a clearing with a stream in the middle of it.
Crouched on all fours by the stream was Cal staring down into the water, He fell back into a sitting position, giving Jesse a good look at his teary and bloody face, As she silently approached Jesse could hear call mutter to himself "you're a real fuckup of a man Cal, First BoBo and the others, then dad followed by the tribe and now the girl you liked" Still silent Jesse wrapped her arm around the big mans shoulders, he tensed up at her touch at first before relaxing, Suddenly as Jesse sat down Cal pulled the woman into a big hug, instead of acting awkward she hugged him back, crying with him as well
. As they parted, They looked into each others eyes, instead of meeting his cold, harsh, normal eyes they had changed more softer and kind, like a ocean. Thats when he kissed her, it didn't last more than a few seconds but it was still enough to make Jesse blush. As Cal stood up and was pushed into the stream by Jesse who instantly regretted it when he pulled her in with him. At first she was worried that Cal was angry but was quick to get rid of her worry when she heard him laughing, Jesse laughed to and the pair began to splash each other with water. Unaware of the people watching them.
"cough it up" Chris told Julia as they watched Cal and Jesse mess around in the stream. Julia sighed before handing Chris 5 dollars "told you that I could get their relationship a boost". As the pair walked back to the wagon, Julia tried to flirt with Chris by saying "Even with your busted up face you still look cute" which Chris responded to by saying "well I could say the same thing when..." He didn't get to finish as Julia grabbed him and pulled him into a makeout session.
